International Russia/Ukraine Megathread V12

Lack of unified ammunition in EU countries in reality is just slow transition process and in some cases exactly this helped Ukr a lot.

Because Ukr does have a lot of USSR era weapons.
With the same Poland, not likely they had supplied 290+60 tanks if these had 120 mm guns not 125 mm ....
+ these T-72 type also offered Ukr big bonus: Ujr does have 40+ years experience with them, therefore might had started to use immedately. Some spare parts and a lot of mechanics awailable etc.

I have knowledge of this conflict from day 1 mate.
So, what you are saying is that Ukraine should fight to the last man. Once that has happened, Russia can easily take the whole country instead of just the East. Does that really make any sense? Both Armies are shrinking by the month. Russia will end with more soldiers to fight. As I said before, Ukraine can choose to attack or defend. It cannot do both with the current number of solders it has in its Army. There will come a point when Western help and weapons won't make a difference if you don't have an Army to use them. If Zelensky thinks he is going to push the Russian Army back to Russia without any major losses to his Army, he is clearly delusional. I know he does not have any military experience. If his military advisers are telling him to do this, they clearly have not learned from history. I wish this conflict had never started, but things will never go back to the way they were in February 2022. I have a feeling Ukraine will lose this conflict by 2024. Was it all worth it? Looking back, should they have done something different?
Crikey, mate, you aren't very bright.

Say Ukraine pushes Russia completely back.. then post war joins nato.

What's to stop Russia from the exact same rhetoric? As They'd still be cornered?

I don't think the world goes madmax alot of the nuclear winter situations were over exaggerated. it will be completely fucked up for people and the world in general though. So hopefully we never find out.

NATO won't join this war due to not wishing to corner Russia and the threats of provoking a nuclear reaction right?

Why will nato let Ukraine join after the war if they are worried about a nuclear reaction?

If the concern is Russia being cornered. They are going to feel that anyhow? One would assume more so after a losing war ?
The difference is it would be Russia's choice to attack a NATO member if they join after this war. If they join now NATO would be obligated to destroy all of Russia's forces currently in Ukraine.

really? hey everyone! white whale says biden is giving ukraine cluster bombs!
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-66144153.amp

Several allies of the US have expressed unease at Washington's decision to supply Ukraine with cluster bombs.

On Friday, the US confirmed it was sending the controversial weapons to Ukraine, with President Joe Biden calling it a "very difficult decision".

In response, the UK, Canada, New Zealand and Spain all said they were opposed to the use of the weapons.

Cluster bombs have been banned by more than 100 countries because of the danger they pose to civilians.

The Biden adminstration is saying it.

They won’t be using them in residential areas more to clear the trenches they have all over the place and are hard to get by.

Ukr army right now is almost same size as Rus army in numbers. And as much as they are losing, the rus are losing just as much. Yes there are twice as many russians than ukrainians but that is balanced by war being fought in ukrainian soil, hence soldiers having higher morale, Ukr using martial law, winning the war in media etc.
Indeed.
"Why does the rabbit outrun the fox? The rabbit is running for its life, the fox is running for a meal."
It does not matter really. What counts is the size of your Army over time. The Ukrainian Army is shrinking by the month. Their counteroffensive is not making much progress. This is the reality people don't want to accept. No one wants Ukraine to lose this conflict. They want things to go back to the way they were in 2021, maybe 2013. Not going to happen. Reality is a bitter pill to swallow.

. Map Reveals Russia's Progress During Ukraine Counteroffensive (msn.com)
The Ukrainian summer counteroffensive is not going as successfully as Kiev had hoped, with forces attempting to find weaknesses in the Russian military's restrengthened line of defense along the vast border separating the countries.

Compared to the previous counteroffensive September 6 to October 2, during which Ukraine retook over 500 settlements and more than 4,600 square miles of territory, this current one is an exhibit of stalled progress described by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as "slower than desired."

Retired U.S. Brigadier General Mark Kimmit told The Wall Street Journal that "there hasn't been a significant amount of progress" for Ukrainian forces as they try to "figure out the soft spots" along the front.

An interactive map published by ISW shows Russia actually seizing control of more areas than Ukraine during the current fighting, including major regions such as the Donetsk Oblast, Mariupol and Kherson—the latter of which has been a combat hotbed.

Rambling about so called " counter offensive failed " narrative is ridiculous.
At first, I already in january had posted that with provided supplies in best case might be enough to hold russia back....only in best case.

IMHO it was big psy op in order to make russia prepare for supposed ukr offensive.
Why?
In order to get time for Ukr accumulate weapons and ammo + to train troops. To prepare repel next big russia's offensive....

Now more looks that Ukr still is doing " probing " in order to expose rus ammo depots and radioelectronic warfare stations in order to hit them ...

+ ukr is supposed to get next batches with supplies etc...
also not all soldiers trained in western countries yet had completed training course.

They are sent in batches, one batch is trained, then sent back to ukr and after this next batch is arriwing for training.

Yeah but those countries are all Putin shills...;)

Very neutral bro..

Can you point me to your posts where you criticized Russia on 28 occasions thus far where they are documented to have used cluster munitions?

Also Russia weren't using them in the fields like Ukraine wants to do to get through the WWI trenches but populated areas like Kharkiv...

About ammo and europe it is special case.
Their bireucrats and politicians are helix ( snail ) mode.......
While Ukr should get that most financial direct and indirect damage and expenses cos this war had to bear europe and without their financial support Ukraine long ago had been forced to admit State Treasury default de facto and de iure.
Also EU countries ability to help financially is partially limited because refugees are expensive thing to have and IF this money might had been spent on military supplies for Ukr then .....situation had been better.

President Joe Biden, again, never fails to deliver a poor performance:
. Joe Biden leaks embarrassing US military intel in live TV interview: ‘We're low on it' (msn.com)
. US ammunition running 'perilously low' from Biden's efforts to arm Ukraine, military strategist warns | Fox News
Ret. Lt. Col. Darin Gaub said it may take decades for the United States to recover from all the ammunition provided to Ukraine to fight Russia.

You seem awfully anti-American and pro-Russian. Very weird.

Cornell West is a useful idiot nothing more.

He better not run against Democratic party if Trump wins GOP.

Quick derail...

Professor Wests' campaign manager is Jill Stein.

She's kicking it here with Pres. Putin and the Russian agent U.S. Gen. Michael Flynn.

Back on track.

Ukr also should get that europe isn't just only one form of support like centralised decisions done by EC/ EP.
Additionally there is support done by contries on individual basis ....
Besides gov decisions there are charities etc ....
Suprisingly generous were also donations from ordinary citizens....from $ till clothing and fuel etc...
BTW I was shocked when get how generous were ordinary inhabitants in Germany.... damn shocking reality.

"Waaaaahhh! Pres. Erdogan gave back the Ukrainian troops to Ukraine! WAAAAAAAHHH!"

Will Pres. Putin try to de-Nazify Turkey!?!?!?!?
