With a boxoffice like this, is it actually real?

Random question, is Robert Pattinson out as batman already or is he getting a sequel and the we will have another story about a different batman?

I expected to do a lot better, my guess is:

-People overrated Keaton's box office draw after the Spider-man' success. Maybe people 30 and under don't care about Keaton at all.
-People hated Ezra as Barry even before he went nuts.
-Snyder fans are boycotting the DC films, they were pretty much the only ones making DC money.
-Gunn's reboot killed interest on the remaining DCEU films.

I would add...

-General audiences are getting bored of the superhero expanded universes genre, with a few exceptions of their favorite heroes.

Since No Way Home the only superhero movies that have made profit have been Dr.Strange2, Thor4, and Guardians3. And although they 'made profit' they didn't make as much money as they were hoping to make.

Literally every other Marvel & DC film have flopped.

I’m also surprised by the movie getting destroyed at the box office. Have any people in this thread that typically catch the DCEU movies in theatres that DIDN’T see Flash commented on why they chose to stay home this time?

I haven’t seen Flash, but I’m not the right person to ask as the only DCEU movies I did see in theatre were Man of Steel, Wonder Woman and Justice League. All the rest I saw on streaming platforms after the fact, and some I still haven’t seen at all like WW 1984 or Black Adam.

Look at domestic grosses. It isn't just super hero movies, which are in trouble because of their budgets, but movies across the board are in rough shape.

In my previous post, I showed domestic numbers for movies. People are grasping at straws why things are bad but I think there was some type of shift after COVID.

Yeah Ezra Miller, fuck that bitch.

A lot of them did pretty good.

Scream 6 did more than 5
Creed 3 did more than 2 and 1 without Stallone
Puss in boots did better than the first one in the domestic (mind you that was 2011)
Evil Dead Rise is the biggest box office of the franchise
John Wick 4 is the biggest box office of the franchise.
Spider-man did better than part 1
Cocaine Bear did more money than anyone could have imagined a film called Cocaine Bear could.
M3GAN did pretty good.
Avatar did extremely well but most of their money was 2022 so thats why they only count a small part.
GotG3 did what was expected on the film its like 30 million behind 2.

Little mermaid big flop was the international market and that was because of the casting, they really shoot themselves on the foot.

The big flops are the superheroes and the summer films. And 2 of those (Fast and Transformers) are franchises that peaked a while ago.

Ok I haven’t seen the movie yet but have seen a few leaked scenes on Facebook and the like and holy shit is the CGI really that poor? The Supergirl breakout scene looked atrocious.

I’ll wait till it’s on Max.

No. These are shitty numbers. Especially, shitty when you take inflation into account.

This tells me we're getting past the Superhero/Disney/DC era of films dominating the Top 12 movies each year.

Little mermaid big flop was the international market and that was because of the casting, theyr really shoot themselves on the foot.

Its was a doomed concept from the start, far before the casting decisions were finalized. And it was completely fucked with all the alterations to make it feminist-friendly.

Don't forget Elemental & Lightyear completely bombing.

And I am eagerly awaiting Indiana Jones 5 opening weekend boxoffice.

Lightyear was 2022 so it wasnt on the list, but that film had their cretive problems by not giving fans the Buzz they saw and loved in Toy Story,

Little Mermaid would have made some money if they have just given people the version they liked, especially with classic Disney being big in the Asian market. But yeah casting and feminist propaganda completly killed the film (at least a huge part of its market), I don't think the domestic final tally will be that bad, the worldwide will be .

Indy 5 is gonna suck but thats another franchise that shoudl have been left to rest like transformers and fast.

Wasn't going to watch but an 8 score and Keaton as batman have me sold

I think people forget that Marvel is releasing three big budget super hero movies a year. It is shlock to keep families bringing the kids but Marvel isn't putting out three good ones every year. It has been very uneven after Infinity Wars.

Robert Pattinson is still Batman in Matt Reeves' standalone universe. Gunn's new universe will have a different Batman which will appear in Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

The Batman is the first of a planned trilogy. The sequel has a Oct. 3, 2025 release date. In this universe, they already have a Penguin spinoff series starring Colin Farrell coming out in 2024 at Max.

Update: April 12, 2023

In-Production Promo Teaser for Matt Reeves' THE PENGUIN Starring Colin Farrell

The new Max Original Series from Matt Reeves and the next chapter in @TheBatman saga is now in production. Coming in 2024 to Max.

On paper, a Waller series seems stupid. But if we are being truly honest, when the Peacemaker series was announced back in 2020 (a year before The Suicide Squad came out), a lot of people also thought that it was a stupid show to greenlit. But Peacemaker turned out to be one of the best superhero live-action series we've seen. For me, Gunn is 6 out of 6 with his CBM projects where he is the writer or director (GotG trilogy, GotG Christmas Special, The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker). So I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt. If he has an interesting pitch for Waller, I'm keeping an open mind.

I was actually stoked for a Peacemaker series, since he was arguably the best thing about The Suicide Squad, Cena was perfectly cast in the role, and the character himself was exciting to watch. And the series knocked it out of the park, with Cena managing to grow Peacemaker as a character. From a psychotic Captain America into someone who's desperate for friendship, wants to be a real Hero, but is consumed with self-loathing that stretches all the way back to his childhood. The series itself was a near-perfect mixture of drama, violence and pitch-black comedy.

Waller is just a manipulative, ruthless bitch. Davis is a good actor, but the character is so flat, I've no interest in seeing her or anyone else play it as the main role. It's not like you can even expect some decent action sequences. Cena is built like a brick shit-house, and his background in WWE helped him make the fight scenes look great. Waller got KTFO by a female office worker with a golf club:rolleyes:
