Ah I came on to make a "he couldn't find the right gloves" joke, well done.
Yo Ant. The set-up question is obvious, but need to ask for the set up...
Who's more likely to get their unification bout, Adesanya or Poirier?
How much less likely is Poirier to get the shot? Minus injury, what has to happen for Poirier to have the shot taken away?
Yo Ant. How much does Adesanya-Gastelum look like what Jones-Cormier would look like at heavyweight?
The poll is up for today's show, asking if the interim champions crowned at UFC 236 will fight for the undisputed belts next. Will Dustin Poirier fight Khabib Nurmagomedov next for the undisputed LW belt? Will Israel Adesanya fight Robert Whittaker next for the undisputed MW belt? Will both fight for their respective undisputed belts? Or will neither, and something else will happen?
It might seem like an obvious question, but we want to know if you think Poirier will fight Khabib, or if the UFC will do something different instead with Conor McGregor or Tony Ferguson? And the same goes with Adesanya, will he fight Whittaker or will they change things up and do something like a rematch with Gastelum for the vacated belt?
Yo Ant. Will you and Burgos go to Whittaker-Adesanya in AUSSIELAND?????? Can you hire me as a journalist so I can come along? Where do you think that will rank among the craziest, most intense in-arena experiences in MMA history?
Also, last week's article of Ask Ant got through four big questions: https://www.sherdog.com/news/articl...-Have-Seen-the-Other-Guys-Face-Edition-152697
From @Frank McEdgar, @Glove, @drbolony and @Marc A!
Ant + Burgos. Since we can barely call Conor an active fighter, who's got the best mic skills rn in the UFC? If you're able to rank a top 3 on the fly, that would be cool too...
On the Bubble:
--> Cejudo's are coming up but he's not quite there yet. More suave, less trash talk would get him there. That press conference dance w Moraes was clumsy, but the rest of it showed enough to build a division around
--> Israel would be if he didn't burp so much. He's cool af but also a little strange
--> Askren, funny as hell but also strange
--> DC. Dude is so likeable when he's a broadcaster but feels like he's trying to tap into being a heel/cocky in the ring. Just be The Daddest
Oops, I read it wrong.
Yes they will fight for the undisputed titles. I hope I can change my vote.
If they can book Tony vs Khabib they will, or Conor against any of them (including poirier).
Israel probably does.
Forgot this question.
* In an recent article, sherdog journalist Eric Stinton -- a scholar and wordsmith of great renown -- said that Poirier vs Hollaway and Kelvin vs Israel prove that you don't need bad blood to have a badass fight. But that begs the question, ignoring hype and marketing, do you guys think that heated feuds actually produce better fights overall?
I like this question, let's see if we can work with this. Not that I dislike the others, mind you.
Israel will most likely fight Bobby Knuckles and I feel Poirier is gonna get screwed one way or another.
What would they do, throw in Conor instead? And make Ferguson vs Poirier, the battle of the interims?
The show will be live in 10 minutes. Please feel free to jump in the Youtube Chat during the show to talk to our hosts directly!
Israel does, fights huge for Australia.
Dustin does not, Dana going out of his way to not compliment him or say his name was all the proof I need he isn't getting the title shot.
The show is about to go live, join in on the discussion in this thread or on the youtube video link in the first post!
Ant, does Askren get the next title shot with a win? Who does he have to worry about most to get the shot over him next if he does win?
Separate names with a comma.
