What is the Next Size Down From 5/8 Wrench

A 16mm will work on 5/8 fasteners in a pinch.
It’s too big, but if the 5/8 fastener is a 6 point it might work.

These sizes are a direct swap
8mm - 5/16
11mm- 7/16
13mm- 1/2
14mm- 9/16 (this one is iffy)
17mm- 11/16
19mm- 3/4
21mm- 13/16
24mm- 15/16

Supposed to be the opposite.

I carry one when I work in our laundry because there are a bunch of different machines you gotta crawl inside and on top of and it beats hauling a socket set in their. It's not a replacement for a socket set by any stretch but it does work OK.

It’s a national disgrace that we still use imperial units.

There's probably a website with this reference chart just like there's one for screw sizes.

I bought a wrench for coaxial cable way cheaper at Home Depot than Sears.

Some of these tool posts are giving me ptsd.

Throw most of that shit away, one size fits all sockets and adjustable wrenches just strip shit or break.

of course i probubaly have ten grand in tools not counting boxes.

Fug, it’s prolly closer to 20. 99% of my stuff is Snap on, Matco or Mac.

And a bunch of old Us made craftsman.

Just use a Fitzall wrench.

Yeah it's not bad. It beats carrying around an entire socket set.

The only pinned socket I used like that before fell apart at comically low levels of torque on my first "test" of it.

I have adjustable wrenches of various size for this exact reason.

A drawer full of fractional and metric wrenches that looks like a bomb went off inside?

Fuck looking through that mess, grab one of the adjustables.

Adjustables are fine if you're working on simple stuff that's not very tight and is located out in the open. In most other cases, they aren't worth a shit due to size constraints and the fact that they're not engaging more sides of the fastener.
