Who are some fighters you used to be a fan of, but then stopped being a fan?

I gave up on him even before that. Love him when he first came in a wanted to fight everybody and as often as possible. Then he instantly changed to a guy calling out everybody in two weight classes, while fighting nobody. Now its been only 3 fights in 3 years and he still won't shut his mouth.
He hasn't even been fighting in the UFC for 3 years and has 6 fights since he started fighting in the UFC

Where did you get 3 from? lol do you mean Costa because that is a correct statement about Paulo Costa?

I don't dislike Jones and I enjoy watching him fight but I lost a lot of respect for him after he cried for failing a drug test. I don't even care that he juiced but how can you take PEDs and then cry about it when you get caught?

jesus juice does that to your hormones.

didn't he sue his twin brother over a tractor?
True, yup sued his brother for that, and it was his twin brother as well. All the stuff Matt wrote in his book about his wife was way too much for me, it came across awful. I was shocked that he would put all of that in his own book.

The TUF showings were not good, but the book was way too much. It was hard to like him after that.

I used to like him a lot before I knew all of that stuff, he was crazy strong, I miss those crazy super strong American wrestlers in UFC, its all lost sadly.

Adesanya.
I aways like How he Strokes, and have such an smooth moviment.
I like How he does that Naruto things during the figth, like signature moves etc.
But he becomes a really boring figther, seems like hes figthing with fear i dunno

I was a big fan of Yoel but then he became too tentative and began losing a lot, albeit sometimes due to faulty judging

Yair. One of the fan friendliest styles out there, but I geniunely dislike his personality. Always hard to tell if you don't know someone personally, but to me he always felt fake humble.
Always talking about how grateful he is and how humble and then eyepoking the who-the-fook-is-dat-guy and then bitching about it at every opportunity he gets.

Hooker. Also a fan friendly style, but the guy is kind of a dick lately. Maybe just a sore loser, idk.

Colby. He's a good fighter, and he can be funny, but I don't like the whole Republican act at all and he's crossed the line more than once, saying things that are just not necessary to promote his fights.

TJ. Cool striker, but a cheater. Never even showed signs of remorse.

All good calls. I'll add that Hooker seemed like a normal, chill guy for awhile, but lately (and as you note, since his record has taken a dirtying) he comes off as a dick and/or arrogant more often than not.

Conor McGregor, I'm Irish and it was really great to have a superstar out there repping our flag. But damn, he became a disgrace to the country, and every time you think he's turning shit around, he fucks it up again

My friend Graham from Dublin was his biggest fan ever and we used to argue about him all the time.
One day I was talking shit about Conor just to get a rise out of him, and he was like "ya know what?...fuck that guy, Im done".

I was so shocked I didn't even break his balls about because he seemed genuinely bummed that he came to that realization lol.

Matt Hughes, I used to be a big fan, but then I saw him on TUF as the coach and he came across really badly, he was such a bully and so arrogant on it. It was a bad showing. Then after that I saw more fighters coming out saying he is a bully etc etc.. anyways I was still on the fence but I brought his book and that was dreadful, he comes across terrible in his own book, if people have read it they will know exactly what I am talking about. Never liked him after that.

I was a huge fan of him too, that book sealed the deal though.
The TUF season was like a peek into who he really is sir.

Very true.. that season actually made me like Rich Franklin more though, he came across as a very classy guy and a gentleman, he had a great showing. I liked Rich more after that, and Matt a lot less

Maybe Penn. he was my first favorite fighter. Then the sexual assault allegations from his wife and listening to what a dunce he is. His fights are still great. But when I knew less about it, I held him in higher regard.

Which fighters in MMA did you used to be a fan of, and stopped being a fan, and why did you stop being a fan?

For me its Henry Cejudo. Always found him to be an exceptional talent, but then the triple C and cringe persona became too much. Still respect him though
Cowboy Cerrone. I saw an interview where he said he liked to hit on girls in bars just so he could fight their boyfriends. What an utter piece of shit.

Paddy Pimmblet for obvious reasons.

Jon Jones. Probably the greatest fighter of all time. Then he ruins it by doping to the gills and fighting so dirty the UFC had to make new rules solely because of him.

Franklin has always come across very genuine tbh.
He had a great way of expressing his thoughts, but that's probably why he was a teacher tbf.

Hughes just came across like a spoiled prick to be honest with you sir.
After reading the book it was solidified in my mind, and his subsequent actions after that really made it clear.

Matt Brown said Cowboy was a bully in the gym, especially with new people.
He would ko new people (not pros or semi pros), just regular people.

He's a douche.

Hendricks is one that comes to mind and I didn't see on the front page. Dude was a killer early on with great hands, great wrestling, great chin and essentially unsubmittable.

Then something (USADA and more steak) happened and he didn't want to (or couldn't) make 170 anymore and he got fat and was just embarrassing at MW even missing weight in his first MW fight.

He then got KO'ed in bareknuckle by a gay pornstar who used to fight at LW in MMA.

The fall off from essentially beating GSP and becoming WW champ to the end was one of the steepest and worst declines we've ever seen.
