Fighting occurs way more often in the skreet than it does in competition, and I for one am thankful for the opportunity to lol at it.

Whats every ones first reaction when it comes to street fights? What are you most inclined to do?

Not to get into them. You never know who has a knife or is carrying a gun. You don't know if they have a friend around the corner either.

Also, if you win, and you KO them over concrete, and they fall backwards and split their head open it's going to be a really bad day in court.

If you find yourself in a situation you cannot get out of, strike hard and fast and deliberate. Do not stop swinging until they go to sleep then run away from the scene before the authorities show up.

try to avoid, and dont engage because im always carrying a knife and i dont want to do time, will only fight on the street as last resort

New stipulations. Cannot say "I'd avoid at all cost" This is the street coliseum gents. You MUST act and CANNOT get away from the fight. You are backed into a corner and the person in question called your mom and all female relatives thots. What's your next move?

But of course Inan ideal scenario we would all try to avoid it.

How do you guys handle a scenario where you are trying to break up a fight between two people? Do you stand in between them and let them talk shit and vent it out or do you just try to talk them down and not let them verbally escalate it?

I work at a gym and have had to break fights up before and was curious about this after the last time it happened. I sort of got burned for trying to verbally defuse the situation by saying things like "come on homie it's not worth it just let it go" and of course when people are in fight mode they aren't thinking rationally. He turned around and said "DON'T TELL ME TO CALM DOWN". Part of me felt like it would have been better to have just been a barrier and not said a word.

I've got scars from breaking up dog fights, so to me unless I have a dog in the fight I ain't intervening at all. If they want to be meathead idiots in a gym then let them sink their own ships. Intervening with others is a different kettle of fish, but alone? you can't control anything even if you're significantly bigger ... and do you want to be part of something that had nothing to do with you, because that's what will happen if either them of hit you and it becomes a brawl.

Can't argue that judging the situation on all it's merits is hard but I'd be thinking about my career first

It would be great if we could get an alert when one of our threads is deleted, for future reference

also what is the ruling on gun play? if a fight ends with someone firing their gun but there's no visible impacts or deaths, is it ok to share? found one where the victims wife saves him from a gang beating by firing a gun and then he takes it from her and fires some more. There's no sound for it.
