Economy Trade War is Here - USA vs. China

@Rational Poster

You hate America and want to see it burn.

Why?

Why can't you get on our team?

Why isn't America first in your mind?

LOL just kidding. IDGAF what you think.

@kpt018

Even less so.
Huh? I love America, it's been fucking great to me and my family. That's precisely why I oppose Trump so strongly.

And because I studied economics and can read I know that trade wars are fucking dumb and hurt all parties involved (which also hurts the global economy when it involves the two largest economies).

I really don't know why you guys have to think in these terms. Are you really unable to process the idea that someone disagrees on issues so they must hate the country? I've never said one thing that would suggest I hate America.

Also, if this was a troll post you got me.

I say fuck China but I'm not sure that the American consumers have a stomach for much of this. In the 80s there was a big push for buying American but consumers mostly opted for the cheaper foreign stuff. Now nothing is made here. It doesn't help that Trump is the most divisive prick imaginable and half the country wants him gone asap. It doesn't give us much leverage when China only has to tighten their belts for 16 months.

Id expect them to invest in the Rusdian markets first, but bottom line is that this will increase cost for China who's economy is already slowing.

And they may increase market share in other countries, but we're 20% of all China's trade.

Their slowing economy is still growing faster than ours, though.

China will tighten their belts for 1000 years if they have to.

I don't think most people understand Chinese culture, especially the ones advocating for this sort of approach.

What am I missing?

The delivery bro. It was solid

I by no means think you hate America. But I do think you hate Trump......and it might cloud your judgement at times

Have a Bitchin summer dude

I see China's military in HK as a 50/50 prop at this point

I hope this trade war with China keeps going for much longer and Trump gets tougher with them.

You sure shit on everyone's ideas about this topic. But really do not ever say what you think is the way to handle this situation

I love America and hate Trump because I love America. And I think my judgement has never been clearer.

You too bro.

whats up with all the capital letters in your first sentence?

oh, and...

Wont somebody PLEASE think of the children?!?!

What's up with your lack of content? Some people may call what you have done "shit posting"?

This is a problem for generations to come if we let it continue. That's not a symbolic talking point like your "Children in Cages" bull shit. We will surrender our children's ability to realize the American dream and watch the freedoms and liberties we grew up with gone for them. I do not want my Generation (X) to be like the Boomers and never take a hit, selfishly spend away next generation's futures, and let the economic, trade, deficit, employment issues be kicked down the road for an eventual unrecoverable crisis. That's what selfist assholes like the Boomers have been doing.

I made a thread saying we should start importing HK residents and their wealth and many said I was nuts

Why do so many posters never think outside the box

Their slowing economy is still growing faster than ours, though.

China's total debt — corporate, household and government — rose to over 300% of its GDP in the first quarter of 2019, slightly up from the same period a year earlier, according to a report by the Institute of International Finance.

"China ... (had) this huge stimulus and turn on the credit taps and they drove all this global demand," Howie said. "But there clearly was going to be a cost ... and now they are suffering (from) it."

China's debt levels rapidly shot up a few years ago as its banks extended record amounts of credit to drive growth, which led to the Asian giant undertaking deleveraging efforts, or the process of reducing debt.

But the trade war has put a dent in its efforts to pare its massive debt as Beijing sought ways to boost its slowing economy, which was at its lowest growth in 27 years.

I think this is a job for the free market. State level interventions on this scale are bad news.

Forcefully severing trade relations with China certainly isn't the solution.

^^^ Nailed it. He is what we call a "rock thrower". Never any solutions, just a fail attitude where he only throws rocks.

China could have "tightened their belts for 1,000 years", if it weren't for modern technology that can automate all their low wage jobs out of existence. Again, the biggest problem China has is keeping their rural populations out of their cities. If they come in, the cities collapse.

Yes, you clearly hate Trump. But that might be the problem

Hate clouds what one would consider clear judgement. It's why we dont have vigilante justice

China owns more of our debt than anyone else...

You seem to have missed the point of the entire Trade War.

IT'S NOT A FREE MARKET.

China is manipulating their currency, using slave labor, putting excessive obstacles on imports for years, and stealing IP from competitors. Nothing about their practices are "Free Trade". Do you get it yet?
