UFC 242 Khabib vs Poirier

lol at all the parrot talk from people who have never wrestled a day in their life about khabib’s entries & single leg because they listened to a podcast of people who have never wrestled in their life.

khabib‘s entire game is based on getting a hold on you. it doesn’t matter if you defend 1, 2 or even 3 takedowns. he is a chain wrestler and wtf is all that single leg talk about ? most of his takedowns come from the clinch. he can do all takedowns. khabib has the bodylocks & sambo trips and he has good singles and doubles since he started working at AKA after the tibau fight.

his single leg is great because he times it so well and shoots very low to avoid danger. you know who has actually bad entries ? ben askren because he fights like it’s a wrestling match just walking into everything like the masvidal knee. khabib moves, circles and shoots in the perfect moment. you can stop it but he works his way up from the initial shot.

people love to shit on khabib referencing the iaquinta fight because they think "this dude can’t strike and he dives for the leg". it’s not that simple.

the funniest thing is that dustin poirier has never ever even fought a chain wrestler in his entire life lol. all this talk about khabib being too basic etc. while we have extremely limited data on poirier‘s actual takedown defence.

That's cool but stop acting like you know any more than anyone else on here.

i didn’t. it’s just obvious when non-wrestlers talk about a wrestler‘s wrestling game like it’s actually not that tricky.

i prefer listening to actual wrestling experts because my own knowledge is limited and i don’t want to repeat every phrase that was said on a podcast.

No reason for moras to miss. Should be able to make 136 easy. She mentioned getting the flu during camp. Hope her cardio isn’t worse than usual

Spent a little time on the mat albeit at a high school level. No expert advice here. I agree though people miss the beauty of his single leg. I think it looks bad to people because of the lack of set up. Still that added layer of defense from shooting so low is how he avoids the Askren treatment. Loved that Masvidal pic you had up for while btw that shit was gold, Ben really is one dimensional. Either way i've got 500 riding on a life time of transitional grappling and a truck load of tenacity.

So what if you listen to a wrestling expert on a podcast... Or what if you reach and opponion that is shared by someone on a podcast but they can explaine and word it much better than you? Or what if you're still just kind of a tool..

Khabibs entries are not good lol

He dives recklessly for single legs and anything that can get him a grip of his opponent and its after that when he chains his shots and gets a hold of his opponents that he is great. The initial shot generally has little set up and is completely forced. It's not like he integrates at all into his striking well or anything. He throws wild hooks and punches himself into the clinch which can help him but he's no Dillashaw, Edgar, Cruz, Mendes etc. that can fluidly time and set up TDs perfectly off striking combinations.

The guy can barely throw a jab or cross before launching himself from far out at his opponents lead leg. It's why Al had so much success stuff shots in open space because if he wasn't getting backed up immediately to the fence he could easily stuff the terrible initial shot and had plenty of space to then move away.

I made about 10 lengthy posts about other fights before that, do you want to go back and check if any of them contain the same information as any MMA podcasts out there? In here acting as if you don't read or listen to something and then repeat the information if you agree with it, give it a rest.

Woah woah woah bro, no! Rickson has said you can't say these kind of things because they already said it on an MMA podcast, sorry buddy but those are the rules.

Lmao, pretty sure Ricksons blocked me so fuck him. If he thinks those are good entries he's never trained MMA (if thats the line of thinking we're going down).

I agree with this, but I still think he dominates Poirier and find value in Khabib's decision line.

BTW I have wrestled

Sure Moras sucks, and I almost considered betting Jojua earlier in the week. But Jojua's TDD is bad, and she's making her UFC debut off an 18 month layoff. She has decent get ups and submission defense, and the better striking, but I think Moras will take her down and keep her down in rd 1. Might hedge on Jojua + money after rd 1 if she looks like she has will to win still. Moras hasn't won a fight while getting more than 1 TD in 5+ years, she doesn't have the cardio or technique to hit TD's and keep top control for multiple rounds.

I thought Moras would have a size advantage without the weight miss, the miss basically confirms she will be 5-10 pounds heavier. All weight misses aren't a factor in the fight, but when the fighter who misses relies on top control, missing weight is beneficial to them, and most likely intentional.

Crute's getting completely annihilated if he can't find a quick KO.
thank you for your opinion sir, Cirkunov comes from a huge ko so Crute might knock him out in stand up. Im not worried if it goes to the ground eiter.
