Economy 22 Studies Agree Medicare for All Would Save Money

I'm just glad I'm young and don't have a lot of assets or investment into a career built up yet.

Imagine if you're decades into a career, and Bernie passes a policy like California's AB5 (why Dave Meltzer can't do MMA reporting anymore, for example) that he supports and just makes your job/ career illegal.

Imagine that you're about to retire or you already are, and you live entirely on your investments, and Bernie just takes 20% of everything you have..

At least I can plan and work around that now that I'm young.

Sad and Simple, you sale while you can and move your wealth the fuck out. Or just pack what little you have move and start from fuckin nothing, not sure where people will go if idiotic deluded leftists destroy America with socialist fairy tales.

Eventually it will save money, but that shit will bleed money like a stuck pig for a while.
It will never save money and our treatment options and number of providers would dwindle and the care would be shit compared to #1 in the world, which is exactly what we have now. And is why when wealthy people from anywhere on the planet have an issue, they pack a suitcase and cash and show up at The Cleveland Clinic, John Hopkins, The Mayo Clinic, etc.
Europe, Japan, China, The Middle East, Africa, South America, Canada and Mexico among others. They all come here. That's odd.
Isn't anybody here from these countries with "free" healthcare going to chime in and tell us how great it is?
How short wait times are?
How you have to pay cash to get yourself actually taken care of in a timely fashion?
Like, the truth?
I mean, I know our clueless Bernie Bros here have no idea, but I know only one person first hand who married a Brit and lives there (friend of my wife's) and it is an absolute horror show. The NHS, at least. Outrageous. So thankful I don't have that "free" care. And a sweet 20% VAT tax on every good or service to pay for my "free" HC. And a long wait.

What fairy tale? Most of the modern world already has some form of universal healthcare. I'm really confused about this whole thing you're going on about with communism. Can you be more specific? How is Australia communist?

If you notice people like superdrunk, booger and raptard have every excuse in the world about why something won't work but offer no solutions to fix it.

The system clearly is broken if 20-30% of the population of the richest country to ever exist have no or very little healthcare. There are more people without healthcare than their are Black people in this country.

Cut the BS, if their life if threatened they will receive medical help. Everything else is on you bud.

What you want me to pay for your car loan and mortgage too ? since you likely already want me to foot the bill for your ADULT kids secondary education.

My Premiums have skyrocketed since our lovely Govt. got involved. Giving the Govt. control of that much money is a fool's errand. Especially our corrupt and incompetent lawmakers. We HAD good insurance for most of my life. A system with lots of choices and low premiums. Then we elected Obama.... and now it's absolute shit. THEY fucked it up beyond recognition and NOW they want us to let THEM fix it? No thanks. They're fucking liars and all this would do is create a two tier system where the poor get crappy insurance the rest of us would pay cash.

They have healthcare, if they are in a life threatening situation they will receive healthcare.

Yes they are free to work for and achieve better quality of life and better healthcare. Its not on me to break my back to pay for it nor for me to be forced into a lesser quality of healthcare for their benefit.

Freedom not communism comrade.
Doesn't have to be life-threatening. They go into ERs with colds here. Anybody.

Unfortunately, most everything you say is also true.

Healthcare is a tough subject with losers no matter what.

Really? A car loan being compared to a person who worked their butt off losing everything because they got hit with cancer? Really now?

When someone goes to the ER and can't pay, your costs go up. When someone has medical debt and can't pay, your costs go up.

You are already paying. So why don't you grow up and stop thinking about yourself as if you are a lone man on an island.

This is a lost cause, people here would rather pay twice the amount than help another American out who is going through a rough patch. They aren't thinking about their children and their fellow Americans instead they'll talk about how they did it the right way, worked their ass off and paid their taxes and refuse to help some bum out. I have asthma, I came back from a country that took care of me and gave me medication for 1/10th of the price. Those bastards wanted to charge me 400 bucks for two prescriptions.

Why would anybody wanna help less fortunate if it means lesser quality health care for themselves n their family?

that’s the big problem with what Bernie is proposing

he wants to take good coverage some ppl have n force everybody on a lesser plan so everybody’s “equal”

I had an asthma attack in a foreign country, I was treated very well. I stayed in a hospital for 3 nights and was given medication to heal. This costed me less than 600 dollars. I went back to the local CVS in America later to pick up more medication. They wanted 400 bucks for the same drugs.

So I get a hospital stay, 24 hour care, affordable medicine for a bit more than what the drugs cost me in the states.

Who has the freedom here?

If you don't want it yourself then how about the future? I have a child and I would feel absolutely awful for not voting UHC in.

I get that a lot of guys here are single and can only think of themselves but let's also think about our brothers and sisters of this nation. We had that once but we've lost that love for one another.

I have three teenagers (one is almost not a teen anymore) and I cringe to think of leaving them third-world HC. UHC, as you call it.
Instead, I'll try my best to steer them to success where they can enjoy the fruits of their labor, including being availed the best HC found anywhere in the world.

cause he’s gonna still be paying n have lesser quality of healthcare

you do know Aussies have one of the highest out of pocket health spending in the developed world.

What exactly are you proving there ?

We're talking about the broader scope of Bernie's presidency like his support of AB5, taking 20% of everyone's stock portfolios, etc. It's not hard to see where this is all leading: live a lifestyle that can be easily regulated, like just 9-5 for a big company, or you're fucked.

Bernie's policies throw up regulations left and right and the problem is that only the 9-5, average joe is accounted for in them; exceptions don't get made for fringe cases. So you lose the freedom to do anything outside of the ordinary.

Example: Dave Meltzer can't report on MMA anymore due to AB5, he just lost that little bit of freedom. I see things like that popping up everywhere under a Bernie presidency.

So i'm supposed to think about people too stupid to think for themselves.

Mind telling me which country pays more? I have a feeling it is an easy one.

I never said there is a perfect system, but we shouldn't be pricing people out of getting insurance.

Well I pray that you never get to experience what I have losing their mother to cancer and getting hit with six figures in medical bills. Anyone short of being wealthy is in trouble.

Switzerland has high OOP spending relative to other countries with UHC and it's OOP maximum is about 1/10 of the US'. @Ruprecht what is the OOP max in the land where people eat barbecued shrimps?

So i'm supposed to think about people too stupid to think for themselves.
If you have a better plan then let's hear it.

The current system is broken. If you can't agree to that then you are just trolling.

Hate to be a broken record but 30 million people without healthcare and 50 million with little healthcare in the richest country to ever be.
