International Is Finland About to Make Christianity Illegal? Christian Lawmaker Facing Fines and Prison

I'm sure she didn't bother tweeting the other rules like no garments of mixed fabrics tho

Just as long as you don't drill evolution into their heads for 18 years and continuously say God is a fairy tale.
Evolution is taught as a scientific theory, as it should be. Telling a kid they will go to heaven if they are good is a fairy tale

It's a theory and one that's used frequently to disprove the existence of God. You're not being fair.

Only teach scientific facts and save evolution for when you're 18.

In all honesty, you just want to drastically reduce the chance of someone believing in God by only allowing people to find out about it after they turn 18.

You want to control people and that's really worrisome.

Having so many others think like you must be that reassuring and comforting.
Evolution is not used to disprove god in schools. You cant disprove something that has never been proven to exist. Camera phones everywhere these days and not a single person of billions has captured a divine act, yet science last year witnessed a single cell organism evolve into a multicellular organism for the first time ever.

Fairy tales

It would be a start , the west would do well to ban all of the desert death cults .
True, that way we could all get our crossdesser story hour and other culture enriching ideas out there with little to no push back.

It's a theory and one that's used frequently to disprove the existence of God. You're not being fair.

A theory is a body of knowledge on a specific aspect of nature which has been effectively proven via observation and experimentation. How people use the knowledge we have accumulated in the field of biology to argue against the existence of a god is irrelevant to the fact that evolution is an observed fact of nature.

Only teach scientific facts and save evolution for when you're 18.

Evolution is a scientific fact.

Id imagine Finnish prison is like an American hotel. Might be okay after all

lol as if it's not talked about in schools when evolution is being taught?

It's a theory with so many holes in it.

A theory is an effectively proven body of knowledge. So, yes, Evolution is a theory in the same way and for the same reasons that the Germ Theory of Disease is a theory.

Getting a little off-topic ITT, but would you mind giving us an example, your best one, of a hole in the ToE?

lol as if it's not talked about in schools when evolution is being taught?

It's a theory with so many holes in it. Camera phones can't detect otherworldly beings but there's been weird stuff recorded before.

I'll just leave this here!

8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.

16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,

17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

No god is not mentioned during evolution discussion. Only during ancient history classes to some degree in that religion was the source of much (most) blood shed in those times. And how religions died or evolved as science and education increased.

Dont you find it funny how , as deeply as you believe in god today, people thousands of years ago believed just as strongly that gods controlled weather, the sun, the moon. Utterly ridiculous thoughts today thanks to science and technology. And as a result religion has dwindled down to a fairy tale that explains life and afterlife, the only two things left that cannot be explained

There's no evidence to support the claim we evolved from monkeys. <TheDonald>

You're mistaken right off the bat when you say we evolved from monkeys. We didn't. We are monkeys, today, right now, live. This has been known since Linneaus' time in the 1800s.

As for evidence, here are a couple of case closed irrefutable pieces of evidence that we are in fact related to the other apes.
The fusion of chromosome 2.
RNA Retrovirus'.
DNA comparison - the same one we use to tell if you are related to your relatives.
Anatomy/morphology.

Are you denying that the word theory, in a scientific context, is a body of knowledge that is effectively proven?

This thread is making me want to go back to the fold. Just like how Hillary made people vote Trump instead.

Sure, a monkey gave birth to a human.

<mma3>

That would violate several laws in the ToE.

I recommend you check out Aron Ra's series on the systematic classification of life so you can remove yourself from the position of total ignorance.

It is all the time today.

Yes lets teach evolution, ban God until you're 18 but teach how bad religion is during history class for 18 years.

Religion is not dying down. You're inviting very religious people to your Atheist society.

God took care of that, just like he did with those filthy pagans!

Religion is dying down mate faster than many predicted .

How is teaching the history of wars "bad"? Its simply the truth.

Whatever point you were trying to make here, you didn't.

So you're saying that humans just appeared in large numbers all at once?

No, that's what creationists claim happened.

There had to be the first man or woman without hair covering their entire body.

It may have been possible to identify the first individual with the mutation which lead to the emergence of our species, however, that individual would be indistinguishable from his/her peers.

That's what you're saying. At some point the monkeys all of a sudden stopped being monkeys and became human.

No. I outright said in an earlier post that humans are monkeys.

I'm not going to derail this thread anymore. Try not to stay stupid.

Finland just trying to get rid itself of foreign religions

Of course she didn't. That was a commandment under the Law. That we (not that gentiles ever were) are no longer bound by the Law was one of the main messages of the person who wrote the epistle she quoted.

They should feed these Christians to lions during public events like the Olympics or something.

Not dead, just locked away by embarrassing forces. The longer you try to lock it away for, the brighter the fire on its sword will burn once it emerges. As somebody who doesn't favor repressive Christianity more than most other kinds of repression, I suggest you stop trying to get Christianity to draw its flaming sword.
That's a pipe dream man, the church ain't coming back anytime soon if at all and if it does it certainly won't come back with much of a vengeance.

Not that I am happy about that, even as a Muslim I think Western societies would be better off if more people went to church. Set aside the metaphysics for a moment and consider just the fact that the church was a unique institution in that it brought people closer to their local communities and provided a space for inter-generational socialization. Nowadays people are very disconnected from their neighbors and outside of work generally interact with people more or less their own age.
