While stationed in Germany, NO PENNIES were issued or circulated, not even from the banks on base. This meant that all prices ended in .00 instead of .99 (no tax, mind you). They figured it was too pointless using them just for the American bases over there, so the lowest value they had were nickels in US currency

As soon as i got back to the US i realized how much i now hate getting them back as change
