Economy New York Times - The President's Taxes

Theyd have to be to break the law and risk their job. Imagine he is reelected and finds out who released it?

Career over. Life not enjoyable as long as he is president or allies are

His underlings have been doing that for the whole of his tenure. More leaks than the titanic!

it looks like it will be public at some point, so we can all see for ourselves, but more than likely after the election

How were these numbers obtained?

Did someone from the IRS break the law (who is anti Trump) and released them?
I read an article stating that under the law it's illegal for the IRS or a government employee to release this information. Once it has been released legally though there is not the same burden in disseminating it further. Would be interesting to know if this was done illegally but if not then it's still a matter of protecting the source from retaliation if not so much of being charged with a crime.

if you can't state why it's illegal, why bother starting a sentence like this? or even making the post?
I don't know if you read that correctly, as far as you know, but I did state that it's illegal for trying to bypass payroll taxes.

It's illegal for trying to bypass payroll taxes.

thanks, captain. it's illegal to murder, too. and equally relevant, apparently.

Sorry I haven't spammed the message boards since the "Like" system was implemented; I'm gainfully employed. Unlike you guys, I don't have the time, or inclination, to post 20+ times a day. Nor do I camp out and post on the first 2 pages of threads, where 90% of "likes" are generated, either.

And lmao at deriving some sort of personal achievement by getting "likes" on a karate forum.

Can you explain to us all about the Consulting fee he wrote off to the tune of $26 million? A portion of that going to his daughter for a project she was employed as a Trump executive, therefore double-dipping and reducing his tax exposure. Which is illegal.

I love it. You can't be truthful. I ask you a straight question and you answer by saying "look over there".

Did you not ask me how the Durham probe was going? Again, they caught an FBI lawyer falsifying evidence.

That literally directly answers the question you asked

I like reading the summary below. It reminds me of how I felt watching Cain disgrace Lesnar. Lesnar was a force to be sure, but it was clear to all but the most ardent of his supporters that his MMA skills were lacking. Then the truth came out and it was beautiful to watch. Similarly, anyone with half a brain could see, years ago, that this man was Don the con. He had a way with words though, and so he suckered a lot of people, in his personal life, in his business dealings, and later in politics. But now the truth is out and it's a beautiful thing to see. I only hope this will make a difference in the way people vote.

"Trump paid no federal income taxes for 11 of the 18 years examined and just $750 in 2016, the year he won the presidency, and $750 in 2017, his first year in office. Trump wrote off more than $70,000 paid to style his hair during “The Apprentice” and collected $72.9 million in refunds challenged by I.R.S. auditors. He owes hundreds of millions of dollars to creditors due in the next four years.

The tax data analyzed by The Times, which was provided by sources with legal access to it, further undercut the image of a wildly successful businessman long projected by Mr. Trump while he was reporting expansive and chronic losses by many of his marquee properties like his golf courses in Florida and Europe and his hotel in Washington — losses that he then used to reduce or eliminate tax liabilities."

Why are people saying he paid a few hundred in taxes all over the internet. Thats 5.2 million right there..

Am I missing something? sounds like he overpaid

Biden payed more in taxes in one year than Trump has in the last 16.

Biden releases 2019 tax returns hours before first presidential debate

Biden and his wife reported an adjusted gross income of $985,233 and paid a total of $299,346 in taxes, for an effective tax rate of about 30 percent.

He's lived off the tax payer teat since he was 29 yrs old. Who has he hired and paid with his own money? Tens of thousands like the President???

without evidence of either? yes.
WTF are you talking about? We're talking about the NYT's piece on his tax returns right? That report indicates he was paying Ivanka as a consultant even though she was on the Trump Organization payroll. That would be illegal.

Yeah, it doesn't indicate it was an endemic problem with the whole team, it was one lawyer that lied so in the end what was gleaned from that? It doesn't taint the rest of the investigation and everything that was discovered outside of that.

And what did the entirety of the Mueller probe conclude outside of their investigation into Page?

Lied?

Clearly you don’t know the first thing about what happened, which is really no surprise at all.
