Hello all! Some very impressive gear here! I am completely new to the sport of boxing! I'm a total amateur, honestly just a fan of the Rocky movies, looking to get a good workout hitting a new 100lb heavy bag I just bought for my basement.
I bought a pair of Tuf-Wear bag gloves. They are ok, but honestly my knuckles start hurting after literally only 2 minutes of punching away at my heavy bag while wearing them, so I am looking for more heavily-padded gloves to protect my knuckles. I'm willing to spend up to $200 for a really nice pair.
I was mainly looking back and forth between Cleto Reyes Extra Padding Training Gloves and Cleto Reyes Traditional Training Gloves. I've read different things about each. What's the main difference between these two gloves? (I'm mainly looking for high-quality gloves and enough padding for me to punch my heavy bag really hard for more than 2 quick minutes!).
I was leaning to the Extra Padding Glove, since it clearly has "extra padding" - but one review said it's a "watered-down" Cleto Reyes glove (in which case I'd prefer the Traditional Training Gloves - but don't know how accurate that review was).
If it matters - I'm a super skinny/scrawny guy, 5'8" and about 155 to 160 lbs (so I'd probably go with a 16oz glove?).
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks so much,
~Tony
