UFC on ESPN 19 Hermansson vs. Holland

How does Wiman win this fight? He has looked horrible after the long layoff, and now he is facing a much younger, longer, and athletic opponent who should easily be able to win the grappling exchanges.

Idk how good exactly is this Leavitt guy on the ground? Wiman has proven he can beat good grapplers in the past but that was many years ago.

Used to love Handsome Matt but him coming back was definitely a mistake.

He used to be involved in so many exciting fights but all that time out and him getting older, I feel the games passed him by and the standard of competition is generally a lot higher now.

It's not been fun seeing him getting dominated as he has in his 2 comeback fights. Hopefully he doesn't get too fucked up in this next one and decides to retire.

Will Louis Smolka have interest in fighting again? or will that fight get cancelled again? i am just not sure how i feel about the Louis Smolka vs Jose Alberto fight. I do remember Smolka losing the last fight this year.

It's as good as the UFC can do in terms of matchmaking him. He's a competent grappler and probably won't get instasubbed by Leavitt, a guy who seems to have little concern for GnP. It's likely there will be some interesting ground exchanges and they will be able to push a prospect forward while giving Matt an injury-free final payday.

For those of you who like making 3+ team parlays, one parlay piece I like is: NOT Leavitt in Round 1 @ -350.

In fairness that was to Casey Kenney who's a legit up and comer. But Smolka always feels sus. He could dominate or look like dogshit. Seems like dog or pass to me, but with the line so tight I wouldn't stake anything significant on it.

Then again, Quinonez has only beaten the bottom of the barrel in the UFC and loses to anyone decent. So Smolka could maybe have value? Hard to judge.

Not really worried about quinonez finishing abilities so I like smolka's price for that reason, i'm not sure how he loses... maybe due to wrestlefuck decision or something? I could be way off no research at all in my assertment lol

Smolka's technique has always been good imo but he gets easily overwhelmed and has some quit in him. Made Borg look like world class grappler (before Mighty Mouse ragdolled him like a little boy) and gave Nicolau like 5 knockdowns or something.

do you still do youtube predictions? what was the channel name?
@Rebel_LioN business started booming, so he has had less and less time to do breakdown videos for UFC events. I've also been traveling and working a lot lately, which makes it difficult to find time for both of us to do a breakdown video.

We might do a video for the December 12 and/or December 19 cards, as those are both filled with a lot of good fights.

You both did a great job on your podcast.

I think Vettori will win, but it's a great stylistic fight on paper. I think we might see a back-and-forth striking match that goes deep or to a decision if Hermansson can't get the TD and own on the ground.

You guys think he is trolling or being serious? I think he is trolling and have a mind to chuck a $100 on him based on this tweet alone. I will wait and see if the line widens again. I haven't capped this fight at all though, and don't know either of these guys.

Anyone else not all that impressed with Dolidze? Seems like a lot of hype behind him but I like Allan in this one..I guess Dolidze is a good grappler but seems he'd rather stand and bang and I think Allan can catch him.

I capped a little, but not much, so take it with a grain of salt.

I think Doldize overextends on his punches and dips his head down to one side a lot, so he is ripe to get caught at some point. But, he has made his style work for him, maybe he knows what he is doing. I thought Allen was better in the striking, but he does go for TDs quite often and you can see that he ends up on his back too, and 4 of his 45 losses have been by sub and Doldize is an ADCC champion. So if Dodize does decide to go for TD?

From what I capped I decided to stay away from ML and solely make a small bet on Doldize sub, as I think that line is quite juicy. I caught it at +650, its a bit lower now.

Ya I think sub is more likely than KO for him, can't see him winning a decision either

I want to bet Hermansson but something is stopping me pulling the trigger.

Tape says Herm, to be honest Vettori didn't really impress me on tape. Jack Slack called him 'meat and potatoes' on twitter and I agree. Not that he's bad but he's basic, he doesn't do that much, what he does he makes work and it is effective, I just don't know if it's enough to beat top 5 opponents.

I believe Vettori clearly lost two rounds to Izzy and I also think he lost the Ahkmedov fight. So his best will is maybe Robertson? A two time weight missing kick boxer and he even got his back taken in that fight.

I also didn't like the way Vettori got taken with some many body locks and trips by Shoeface, he has definitely improved since then but so has Herm and I also think Herm has the better body lock take downs and is much more athletic than Shoeface.

I'm finding hesitation in betting Herm more based on his mental lapses, I do think there are some small questions over his chin and him giving up when he is hurt, but at the same time he showed great resilience against Thales to fight through a broken rib and survive a deep head and arm choke.

Power seems to scare him off and shell him up and and I don't think Vettori has that power.

Both have shown good volume and set high paces but I do side with Herm there also.

Why am I not betting Herm?

What’s up everyone it’s been a while. I’m still capping fights and betting but just no time to edit or share anything cuz it does take quite a bit of time.

This card doesn’t look as great for bets IMO but I do have plays on

Vettori/Jack o2.5
— Neither guy are power punchers. Vettori has a block head and he doesn’t tend to put people away. He’s pretty basic southpaw, right hook left straight, occasion left body kick or outside right kick. His defense is his block head, doesn’t really have too many counter abilities. Very solid at the basics tho.

Jack I’m interested to see how he does against a lefty though because he does use his jab a lot. I think his footwork may be key if he wants to win. Also i wonder how his wrestling stacks up, i don’t see him holding vettori down but I could see him getting a few at the end of the rounds to seal a close dec.

I think this could go all 5. If I were to pick, I just went with the underdog by decision which paid out +450 for Jack.

osp/Hill o1.5
Both have good chins. Hill isn’t a big puncher and OSP is a big puncher only when he can find counters. I think hill doesn’t throw off balance power shots so he doesn’t overextend and put himself into too much danger. If fight finishes honestly could be OSP by submission. But I’m siding with hill by dec cuz it paid +305.

movsar by decision -125. I’m aware that Nate tends to block punches with his face though so I’m a bit weary.
