There was a small window in time where Conor would have been a 4 weight champion

I love Conor, but Woodley would have fucked him up. Him fighting at 185 is just delusional.

Having 145/155 titles at the same time is impressive enough. He's a legend and anyone who says otherwise is a hater.
Michael Jordan is a legend. Conor was a great athlete.

Bisping could come out of retirement tomorrow and smoke the best version of Conor. Covid is a fucking manlet. The size difference would be halarious.

Pretend the Diaz fights never happened. Then, right after he beat RDA or Alvarez at 155 several months earlier than happened in the Diaz timeline, the champ at 170 was Lawler. What no one knew at that time was that Lawler was on a HEAVY decline. Conor COULD have beaten the Lawler at that time, and it would have looked like he beat Lawler in his prime.

After that fight, the champ at 185 would have been Michael Bisping. This is just a terrible style matchup against someone lucky to be champ in the first place. You have one of the best strikers of all time in his prime against a guy that doesn't take people down. Conor could have boxed him up and won the 185 belt here.

Conor could not have done any of this at any other point in recent history. This was just a small window in time where the stars aligned for him if he decided to stick with MMA. Which he didn't; he went to fight Floyd, started a whisky company, and the rest is history.

But.. what if?

Lol remind me the guy who was saying that Conor was a nightmare matchup for Curtis Blaydes.

I'm not going to debate the difference between a legend and a great athlete with you. Unless you provide measurable thresholds that experts (aka not you) have agreed upon, stop wasting people time with this useless bullshit.

Bisping used to fight at 205lbs. There was no way Conor would beat him. It took an H-Bomb to knock him out cold. I doubt Conor could produce that.

there's a small window in your brain that needs to be closed off.

This is perhaps the most paradoxal and plain stupid comment on Sherdog in 5 years. You call a man a legend, without any 'measurable thresholds' you seem to really care about. Yet, when another person calls McGregor a great athlete, but nowhere near 'legendary status', you want him to bring in independent experts to prove his point. The needless agression is a clear sign you are dealing with some real struggles in your life, so you probably can't help yourself.

Conor wouldn't have been able to keep up with Bisping's cardio.

This was Conor who lost to Nate, there's nothing to suggest he'd have been able to beat Tyron or Bisping.

Rda would have and would still smash conor. Also ts is cooked.

Why not 5 division champ or even 6?

The guy is a 50/50 fighter when he is not fighting manlets

Most overrated fighter ever

Jesus dude, projecting much? The only point of my post was that 185 and 170 titles wouldn't have happened for Conor. You're just butthurt I used the word legend. As I said, hater

You'll get a lot of abuse here but you are right, especially about Lawlor. He has clearly past it after the Rory war, stole a decision against Condit, got ktfo by Woodley and then stole another decision against Cowboy. I'd fancy Conor against that Robbie. Robbies stock was at an all time high then so it would have looked an amazing win, Shame RDA and to go and get himself injured.

And Bisping was also definitely winnable, he did get beat by 2 welterweights in Kelvin and GSP and Conor has shown he is well able to beat welterweights so why not? Conor's speed and angles combined with Bisping poor peripheral vision may have been enough to offset the 40lbs difference.
Just when I thought id read the dumbest shit of the day by the op.. you pipe in and blow it out of the water.. you know how big Bisping is dont you? And he used to be a lhw? And hes one of the fittest guys in the UFC? Bisping would beat the living piss out of Conor
Name any WW that conor has fought.? no not uncut lw"s, REAL WW"s.. thats right fucking none.
Shut the fuck up and sit down.

Robbie would've slaughtered Conor lol.

TS coming out for his man crush.

I'm not even sure Conor would have beaten RDA at the time. RDA has great leg kicks and some takedown threats, and a hella lot more cardio than Conor ever had.

If he decides to brawl Conor, he gets KTFO in the first, so it really depends on his game plan

LMAO.

I agree he walks through Lawler easily, but Bisping would have been a tough fight.

GSP also had a brief window where he could have been champ at 155/170/185/205/HW, so a FIVE division champ.

As he's said, he can make 155 these days. He already won the belts at 170 and 185, and Cormier was the champ at LHW and HW. Not saying he beats Cormier 100% or anything but a bulked up 200 lb GSP actually matches up amazingly well with him. For one thing, he's actually the taller fighter against DC, and has phenomenal TDD, so I'd give him a 55% chance of winning on points by picking DC apart at range and being elusive + stuffing the TD.

He would have had a chance against Robbie at that time.

People saying otherwise are haters. I love Robbie Lawler, followed his career from his first UFC run around the world to Icon, Elitexc, Strikeforce, etc...

Robbie was not the same after his back to back to back WARS as champ. Neither Robbie or Condit were ever the same after their fight, and that was after two Hendricks wars and that Rory death match.

Woodley put Robbie down with a love tap and shortly after that Cowboy gave Robbie all he could handle. Don’t make the mistake of pretending that it would have been the killer that fought Rory. You have to consider the timing.

Conor absolutely COULD have caught Robbie.
Robbie has had problems with southpaws and lost to RDA, Colby and Nick Diaz and was 1-1 vs Hendricks.

Now Mike Bisping would have pushed his shit in. He would have KOed Conor. Probably after the magic 8 minute mark when Conor becomes a punching bag.

You are the one (again) being super irritated. You are the one to tell me to find some experts to explain the difference between a legend and a great athlete (lol). I merely stated Michael Jordan is a legend, Conor is not. That's my opinion, deal with it and stop being so unbelievably annoyed at somebody's opinion. Do you really think I care more than a minute who wins a fight? It's pathetic how some people aren't able to have a normal discussion. Use your brain instead of your testosteron.
