Robbie Lawler, as he is now, could demolish any version of Conor. Even if Bisping had reduced vision in BOTH eyes, he'd beat any version of Conor. Masvidal would have Conor breathing through tubes at ANY weight class.

Basically, Conor needs to keep fighting the Cerrones of the world to remain a draw. If you like Conor, aim lower for Conor people. Don't push for fights that would destroy the man. Conor should fight Islam Makachev. For what it's worth, Conor has a chance of winning.
 
He doesn't beat anyone over 155 unless they are a LW who isn't cutting weight, a la Cerrone or Diaz.

MW shouldn't even be near the discussion.

Gastelum put him to sleep and GSP dropped him. This was a 46 year old Hendo anyway
 
Why stop at MW following this logic, DC is only an inch or so taller than Connor; the guy could have easily been LHW and HW champ.
 
Please put down the crack pipe. Other than the TKO win over Eddie Alvarez, McGregor has accomplished very little since leaving 145. He is 1 - 2 at 155 (both losses were finishes) and CM got submitted by Nate Diaz at 170 and you think he could have won belts at 170 and 185??? This is beyond nut hugging, this is ball gargling...

Yes, Gastelum, who not only hits noticeably harder than Conor but is also in another league for raw speed. Dude drops MWs. And a 46 year old Hendo still hits harder than Conor, who isn't even that great a raw power puncher.

Gastelum was right after GSP KO.
And that was a retiring Bisping.

So please find new excuses or use it for all fighters.

oh, and Gastelum would sleep COnor as well.

Conor could not have done any of this at any other point in recent history. This was just a small window in time where the stars aligned for him if he decided to stick with MMA. Which he didn't; he went to fight Floyd, started a whisky company, and the rest is history.

You lost me at "after he beat dos Anjos." Eddie beating RDA is one of the biggest flukes in MMA and dos Anjos would have absolutely starched McGregor. Was a stylistic nightmare

No he definitely never was even remotely close to this nor would it happen even in your wildest fantasy. Some of you need help.
 
You'll get a lot of abuse here but you are right, especially about Lawlor. He has clearly past it after the Rory war, stole a decision against Condit, got ktfo by Woodley and then stole another decision against Cowboy. I'd fancy Conor against that Robbie. Robbies stock was at an all time high then so it would have looked an amazing win, Shame RDA and to go and get himself injured.

And Bisping was also definitely winnable, he did get beat by 2 welterweights in Kelvin and GSP and Conor has shown he is well able to beat welterweights so why not? Conor's speed and angles combined with Bisping poor peripheral vision may have been enough to offset the 40lbs difference.
 
How is conor a terrbile matchup for woodley??
