Ya. You need more evidence then that considering the score got review bombed then propped up onto the fact that I can find just as meny negative reviews as positive ones for this "amazing and not devisive game". Add to the fact that even in the positive reviews nobody seems to be up voting that they liked it.

Where are all the people who liked this fucking game?

And why don't we see this kind of reaction from every other game?
The leaks created controversy and people who have problems controlling their emotions, like the guy perpetually on dubs, were determined to hate it no matter what.

Again, now that the dust has settled, fans and critics have awarded it more times than any other game in history.

It's the best 57/100 rated game in the history of the internet!

And yet your evidence that everyone who bought the game was happy with it is based off of ignoring the negative review that bombed the user scores while promoting superficial awards that studios buy in order to pump up christmas sales.

You have no evidence that the vast majority are happy with what they experienced.

Or should I say, "shaky at best"

A lot of people went to go watch the last jedi. Doesn't mean they left happy about having seen it.
I never said that everyone who bought the game was happy with it <Lmaoo> you're just making shit up now

Ahh but my entire argument was that it was divisive with a divided audience that has a large chunk of the player base that were put off by the story.

What percentage? I couldn't tell ya. But certainly we see a divide of which is not evident in the other top games last year.

Smart choice? I don't know. We will see if they ever try to make a third one

This game sold like discount ammo in Texas. Smart choice? Idk what you're talking about.

I played new game plus on PS5 and while I enjoy it, I absolutely hate the flashback moments that take you out of the action. Stupid mini games and dialogue I don't care about. Actually even on my first playthrough I really didn't care much about the story. What made the game enjoyable for me was the gameplay, atmosphere, level design and AI.

That's funny because outside of the rope bit, gameplay wise it didn't add anything new to the table. As far as the effect of this game? We wont know unless they continue the IP. The Last Jedi's shit effects were not seen until episode 9 and solo. Future products burned from The Last Jedi's choices.

If they do an Abby part 3 and it sells hotcakes, then fine. But sales are not an indicator of satisfaction. People buy shit all the time only to realise they didn't like what they had bought.

Angry Joe puts this triple A game as the second worst game of the year. Is it really that bad? Or is he just being overly emotional because of what happens to the characters?

TLOU1 fans were more interested in the continuation of the story than the gameplay and graphical improvements.

Its hard to enjoy a game when you're playing as a character you don't care about, or actively despise.

Its like playing a Saving Private Ryan game as this asshole.

Of course it’s being overly emotional about the characters. There’s a lot of garbage that comes out every year, pretending this was close to the worst is laughable and hyperbolic nonsense for clicks. You can safely disregard any opinion like that.

Did you play it? Not even close to Upham lol. It would be like playing as a German soldier and finding out they’re actually a better person than the American he’s fighting against.

People actually watch this guy? Im shocked, ofcourse he is being an emotional lesbian.

A majority of this game's hate has come from dweebs who have not touched the game and are pointing to some dumb youtuber pandering to their opinion as confirmation bias. Its a joke.

No, its very similar to Upham as far as a character the audience despises.

As far as 'better person than the American he's fighting against' yeah, because in TLOU2 they purposely made Ellie the most repugnant character so that Abby seems virtuous in comparison after killing Joel.

Even playing as Ellie isn't much better than Abby in the game.

For TLOU2, no fans of the first game wanted Joel & Ellie, two of the most favorite characters in all of gaming, to be the characters we're supposed to despise.

The gameplay looks fun to play. Would I rather play as a stud than a chick on steroids? Of course I would. However I feel like that shouldn’t warranted the game to be rated the second worst game of the year. That’s why I’m asking you guys if Angry Joe is correct. I feel like he is disregarding everything else about the game and putting too much emphasis on the story.

Lol no it’s not. Upham was a pathetic coward, that’s why the audience hates him.

We see the other side of the story in Abby, it would be like seeing things from the German perspective.

Joel was already a piece of shit for condemning humanity from the first game, this one didn’t do anything to further that. Ellie was deceived by him and lied to yet still wanted to form a relationship again. She was robbed of that so she becomes consumed with vengeance. There’s nothing in there that doesn’t make sense for their characters and none of it was for us to “despise” them.

I still like Joel, I still like Ellie, and now I like Abby. There’s room for it if you aren’t approaching the game in such an emotional state.

Try playing it some time.

Sums it up very well.

Can't say what's truly in his heart, but there is something amiss about have the to 2 WGOTY being an extremely polished third person action game with a divisive story, and the "Fast and Furious" dumpster fire. Putting TLOU2 near or at the top of the WGOTY because of the story, is like putting "Cyberpunk 2077" at the top of the GOTY list because you're a big Keanu Reeves fan.

Lol no it’s not. Upham was a pathetic coward, that’s why the audience hates him.

And the audience also hates Abby, for torturing Joel and killing him in front of Ellie. Hell, its debatable if each audience would hate more.

We see the other side of the story in Abby, it would be like seeing things from the German perspective.

Its hard to compare Abby to a german soldier because no matter how 'good' that soldier is he still serves Hitler.

If 'despise' isn't the right word then 'contemptible' is. Ellie and Abby both made contemptible decisions in the 2nd game, which the entire plot is based around... there would be no 2nd game if they didn't make those decisions, so the motivation of both characters... petty revenge... is shallow.

I still like Joel, I still like Ellie, and now I like Abby. There’s room for it if you aren’t approaching the game in such an emotional state.

And this is the debate, each individual gamer can still like Joel and Ellie and Gabbie after TLOU2, or dislike them, and that forms their opinion of this story-based game set around the characters.

You still like Joel, Ellie, and Gabbie.

Many others, don't.

You're criticizing us for being 'emotional' as if you aren't, but narratives emit emotion from its audience. They make us care, or they fail as narratives.
Try playing it some time.

I plan to, when its on PS5 and I can pick up a copy for $20.

You're not more qualified to discuss the story by paying $60 and watching the cutscenes on your PS4 than I am by watching a the cutscenes on a YouTube playthrough for free.

You're slightly more qualified to discuss the gameplay having played the game than I having just watched the gameplay, but this isn't a discussion about gameplay.

I absolutely am more qualified than you to talk about the game after playing it when you haven’t lmao.

I disliked Abby at first. I grew to like her character while spending 20+ hours playing as her.

No, you're only qualified in talking about the gameplay.

I experienced the story the exact same way you did, by watching it. The only difference is you watched it on your PS4 and I watched it on YouTube. Holding the controller is irrelevant.

This is like someone saying they're qualified to discuss a movie by watching it at a theater and someone who streamed it at home isn't qualified to.

Good for you.

There's numerous gamers that disliked Abby at first and still disliked her at the end.

Just because someone gradually disliked Ellie more and more throughout the story doesn't mean they began to like Gabbie.

I've heard many people that played the game, including myself when I watch the playthrough, say during their final fight "I couldn't care less who lives, or if they both die."
