Mexican gloves various brands

Prob a dumb questions, but is Grant a particular guy, like Di Nardo is?

And unrelated question (hope I didn't miss earlier in thread), roughly what is the difference between a Cleto Reyes (which I know) and a Necali/Gil?
Grant was founded and is owned by Elvis Grant. The business is run by his son Elliot

Reyes, Gil, and Necalli are totally different animals. @Edgar Martinez has them all. Check his blog and Instagram for his feed back on the latter two brands

Yes there is a guy under the Grant brand and he's make is Elvis Grant, but he doesn't make gloves by his own as Filippo from Di Nardo.

Cleto Reyes makes stock gloves "mass produced". Casanova/ Gil and others are rather smaller workshops which makes small batches of gloves or custom orders.

Elliot Grant, that makes sense.

Checked out the blog of @Edgar Martinez but still wonder a bit about differences.

Basically I have a pair of Cleto Reyes and supposedly a pair of Russianboxer in the mail (if it ever arrives). Love the feel of the cletos. They're the kind of glove you could go to bed with like a kid does with his first baseball mitt. But I find them a touch loose, both in hand compartment and the little space between wrist closure and hand. I also prefer 14oz if still protective. (Went 16 with the cletos because of their reputation, and have no regrets).

So bottom line, is there anything that you think fits my preferences above, that's different enough from "grants" and cletos? (Specifically mexican).

I think you should try with Boxeo TM.

Isn’t Grant his middle name? I was thinking it was Elvis Grant Phillips.

Got my pair of Russianboxer gloves and this Grant comparison madness needs to stop. A couple of YouTubers reviewers mention it and maybe they are getting paid or are getting specific pairs sent to them, but mine go immediately to the bottom of the pile.

I've never used Grant, but unless their hand compartments are comically big, padding is very poor, and lining can be best described as having a burlap or newspaper quality, then these Russianboxer gloves have nothing in common except for their shape.

The only positive I can say so far is the wrist support is good and the wrist closure around the forearm feels good.

Otherwise wow, Hard pass.

In other news, is anyone interested in purchasing of a pair of practically new 14oz velcro Russian boxer gloves......

I can see someone describing Grants like this tbh.

Do you mean grant also bad too?
I don’t know with grant’s new batch, but mine is old series. Their 16oz not big like russian 16oz, more like reyes 16oz for the size.

I've read Grant described exactly this way by others on older threads here

I wish I knew that ahead of time. Ugh. Maybe they are similar then and I was harsh on them as a copy. But still very much not a fan. Maybe if that's the sort of thing you're going for, then they're a good option.

What years were "old series" made?
I am not sure, but the logo still have grant word.
I also have russian in 16oz and bigger than this grant in my opinion.

The gloves with the word "GRANT" included on the punchman logo have a different glove shape and feel than the current Grants. Those older versions were made as far back as a decade ago or longer. They were likely made by a different manufacturer at the time. Even if the manufacturer is the same, the dimensions of the glove and the specifications have changed. This has been confirmed by several posters here on Sherdog who own the older and newer versions of the gloves. The best way to determine if Russian Boxer and Grant are similar is to compare the current version of Russian Boxer to the current version of Grant

There really is nothing all that special about Grant in my opinion. I think people just expect them to be really high quality because they are so expensive and you see so many top pro fighters using them. And they do have some really nice, visually appealing designs and color combinations.

I still really want to know who is making the Everlast MX pro fight gloves. I don’t know of any other Mexican glove manufacturer that makes a glove similar to this, especially in terms of the shape, and I know Everlast isn’t making them. I do really like them though.

I am agree. I think it must be different since it made a long time ago. Even the lining really different with the fight gloves using only word grant. Wondering how many times they change the manufacture.
I am also looking the information about the current grant too, we don’t want to get the wrong size with the price like this lol

I've been wondering about those. They do say they are made in Mexico, though as I'm learning I don't think I'm entirely a big fan of the 'mexican style'. So something made there but not similar might be just the thing I'm looking for. How are they different?
