No.1 B.S. post on sherdog by Josh Gross

Beating Conor means nothing in 2021. His last and only win at 155 in UFC came in 2016. But somehow beating him in 2021 propels you to top5, according to some posters. How's that?

Both Gaethje and Conor combined. Some of you can't read.

I have them tied because I find it hard to compare them.
So that fight really needs to happen.

Edit: However I do agree with that the article are a piece of garbage. IMO Oliviera should be considered #1 and if he beats Poirier he clearly is.

"#1 bullshit on Sherdog"

Sherdogs response.....

Oliveira is without a doubt the #1 in the world.
Y'all are acting like a win over Conor is some huge win. (hurrrr quality of opposition).

It's not 2015 anymore.

I think that beating Conor is always impressive, but the Conor that Dustin beat is not the Conor of old. A win over present Chandler is way more impressive than a win over the Conor that Dustin beat.

Oliveria has just gotten bigger and better over past 3 years. His striking has done a 180 and everyone just tries to dis credit his recent wins. What happened to the great Mike Chandler who walked through, lol, Dan Hooker ?
Youd think Chandler was the betting favorite the way everyone was picking him....especially on sherdog.

It's time to , at least, call do bronx a hands down top 3 155er so how crazy would it be to call the champ the top lw in world .

I hope Poirier beats Conor again then that sets up DP vs bronx.

The wild card now is Beneil who has REALLY stepped up HIS game over past 3 years but shertards will point to a couple of losses 3+ years ago ...... which today - means nothing. In fact , these are the setbacks that evolve certain fighters. You have the talent, put in the work and PRESTO.

Dariush should beat up Gaejthe next and claim a shot at title.

Poirier is number one in the world. He just chose money over the belt.
This. It's part of the problem with the allure of "money fights." It waters down what is supposed to be the goal that every fighter in the division is chasing. At this point, the UFC should just stop doing championship belts and just have big cash prizes like the PFL.

For real. Is Oliviera the GOAT and completely indestructible? No, but he's put in the fights, is looking unreal, is on a huge win-streak, and is beating better-and-better opponents. He deserves the damn belt, and if anyone else had it, you (pl) could of course hold up a magnifying glass to their record as well, and find a dozen reasons to shit on them. He's as rightful a champ as any other contenders right now.

It's not that bad of a take. Arguably has no real top 5 wins. Tony's shot, Lee loses to every top guy he faces, Chandler has no top 5 wins. Poirier is the current #1 LW because of beating Gaethje and Conor. Both of them.
Ah, Cannor is top 5 at LW? The fucking irony...

He might be number one but he isn’t the champ.

Oliveira fought for the belt and won, something Poirier has never done. I’d have chosen the life-changing money as well. Until he wins the real belt he can’t be the champ, though.

Don't know if you guys read the post claiming that Oliviera shouldn't be considered the no.1 LW in the world.
Do you agree ? Believe that Oliviera has the best claim to the stake than anybody else in the division.
If you're talking about best record, I'd say it's Charles or Dustin. I think Dustin might edge it due to quality of competition.

If you're talking about best fighter, then it's either Charles, Dustin, or Conor. I think Charles loses to both, so it's between Conor and Dustin. The fight in July could make my mind up.

beating Gaethje and Conor. Both of them.

Connor has a single win at lightweight and it was back in 2016. Few months shy of 5 years ago

That makes him a top lightweight to you?

This site amazes me. One day connor sucks the next day having a win over him is a huge feather in your cap.

Do Bronx is good but until he beats one of Poirier or Gaethje he can't be considered the best. Beating Lee, Chandler and Tony are ok in a vacuum but when you look at it objectively they aren't as good as Poirier's wins or Gaethje's win over Tony.
