Bezos is a pathological workaholic.

It's like an alcoholic telling a non-alcoholic social drinker he's a lightweight at the bar.

Nothing is quite as disgusting as when the person whose number one reason for getting up every morning is growing their billion dollar business empire tells the tiny cogs in their corporate wheel that they are not "committed" enough to their work of stultifying, low-wage drudgery.

Warehouse workers and drivers are treated rather poorly in all industries, it's low skilled labor and they easily replaceable.

Not saying that is good, but it's not unique to Amazon.

All the white-collar Amazon workers I know make north of 175k a year or more once you factor in all the perks, some twice that.

Yes. White collar. Expensive degrees and brains. The warehouse and driver work is low skilled as you said. If you have a pulse and clean piss you're hired.

This is completely standard for most warehouse operations. Amazon is not special in that regard, if anything they're playing catch up because they got into the warehousing business later than the traditional operators.

If you work in a high value high volume warehouse, your movements are being tracked by design of the warehouse software. You'll also be on camera everywhere but the break room or bathroom, usually from multiple angles. If you don't pick orders at a certain speed and accuracy, you'll be fired. They invest tens of millions to develop this software and millions more to license it annually.


Majority of warehouses will also make you put all your personal belongings, including your cell phone, in a locker before they let you on the floor.

The vast majority of billionaires are.

Think about it. We're all human and at some point in time we've probably thought of how great it would be to be a millionaire or a billionaire. It's a normal fantasy. But at no point in our fantasies are we thinking "Yeah, it's be great to get up at 6 am and work a 12 hour day at the business that's already made me a billionaire". We always think "Fuck yes! Yachts full of sluts!"

Point is, when we think about being a millionaire or especially a billionaire, we never actually think about working. We think about all the awesome shit wed do instead of working. Guys like Bezos would work all the time whether they were billionaires or not. There's a psychological personality template that's very common among ultra successful millionaires and billionaires, and workaholic is one of the characteristics.
