Crime 12 House Republicans voted AGAINST congressional medal for Cops who almost died to save their lives

Lol at going half a year with cops being attacked, shot, assaulted to cheers of "fuck the police, defund the police, police are racists and fascists" and "pigs in a blanket fry 'em like bacon" and "what do we want? dead cops" when they're stopping people from burning down people's businesses and attacking strangers, then as soon as toilet girl hides in a bathroom from people taking selfies in Pelosi's office, suddenly the cops deserve awards and we should all be grateful and demand even more police to surround your masters.

You know society is completely cucked when cops are villains for protecting citizens and heroes for insulating politicians from the people. Sure your business went up in smoke, but that takes a back seat to some politicians feeling a little stressed for an hour.

These people literally do not give a moment of thought to their hypocrisy and absurd positions. It's as low-IQ as you can get.

Don't see it mentioned on the first page.. but the reason they object is because of the use of insurrection, not the officers getting an award
Trump's own lawyer said it was an insurrection in his closing statements at the impeachment trial....yet idiots in Congress are disagreeing? Weird.

21 Republicans again voted no to the "Back The Blue" bill to award medals for the whole additional medals to those who risked their lives to stop the insurrection

The 21 Republicans who voted against the bill are:
  1. Lauren Boebert of Colorado
  2. John Rose of Tennessee
  3. Andy Harris of Maryland
  4. Thomas Massie of Kentucky
  5. Bob Good of Virginia
  6. Louie Gohmert of Texas
  7. Barry Moore of Alabama
  8. Ralph Norman of South Carolina
  9. Matt Rosendale of Montana
  10. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia
  11. Chip Roy of Texas
  12. Paul Gosar of Arizona
  13. Andy Biggs of Arizona
  14. Warren Davidson of Ohio
  15. Scott Perry of Pennsylvania
  16. Matt Gaetz of Florida
  17. Greg Steube of Florida
  18. Andrew Clyde of Georgia
  19. Jody Hice of Georgia
  20. Mary Miller of Illinois
  21. Michael Cloud of Texas

Marjorie Taylor Greene voted no because they were just tourists

Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia told reporters that she voted against the Congressional Gold Medal to US Capitol Police Officers and MPD because she does not believe the legislation should refer to January 6 as an insurrection.

"I wouldn't call it an insurrection" Greene told reporters.

BLUE Lives matter unless they are trying to stop your buddy wearing a Camp Auschwitz t-shirt, then fuck 'em.

I guess the first responders (Fire, Police and EMS) that died during 9/11 shouldn't be recognized for what they did since they were just doing their jobs being first responders?

Let's see who tries to counter this point.
You should be ashamed of yourself for using the heroes of 9/11 who KNEW there was a good chance they weren’t leaving the towers before they collapsed. This “insurrection” was a god damn joke compared to the riots in Chicago alone. Give them the highest departmental medal if they want. Nice to see we no longer want to defund and abolish the police and want to recognize them instead... I wonder what’s different.

How is opening doors for antifa saving anyone’s life

With that logic, why recognize anyone in law enforcement or the military? They're all just doing their jobs. Ironic these people are supported by people who have "Blue Lives Matter" on everything.
Why give anyone cancer treatment if someone else will die of cancer?

That's the idea though. Medals are for going above and beyond in your job within those environments.

If you give them medals are you going to give medals to all the police who have been assaulted in the ongoing riots all of last year ?
They faced what was a general day to day occurrence in Portland for example.

Voting FOR the medal means you are disagreeing with Bunker Boy.

Its about pledging allegiance to Bunker Boy

all of the capitol police officers deserve a medal of honor for their heroic actions on january 6th. they swore an oath to protect their country and the nations top government officials. and thats exactly what they done.

they went above and beyond the line of duty to protect the nation and its democracy against unruly insurrectionists trying to disrupt the election certification process and peacefully hang their vice president.

blue lives matter. law & order bless. back the blue!

lastly i'm surprised that only 12 republican house members, most of which are prominent trump ass kissers, stood up for their insurrection and voted no.

those republicans who voted for the bill are just too sane to be on the team anymore. the GOP should probably try to remove them from their seats and scrub them from their party, and try to bring in more genuine trump bootlickers who are just as insane as the rest of the bunch and will work in unison with the trump parties views. they cant win if their party stands divided on things. even the petty little issues, like revolts against the government.

if only 12 republican house members thought that trumps insurrection was cool beans, theyve got alot of work to do if the party wants to get back on the same page and take back america. its time to drain the swamp and bring in more maga loving yes-men.

Trump/MTG 2024. I have a dream!

They should send people like that to a Fema camp.

A joke that left 5 people dead in its wake. Hundreds of officers with PTSD. A GOP Senate that actively shits on their service by denying what happened that day. It was the first time we had citizens try to stop the counting of votes in a free and fair election because some con man reality show moron precious little ego needed to be placed on life support. I get it, you hate police. Get the fuck outta here you ANTIFA loving moron. There is no reason to even respond.

these officers arent worth the time of day from some of the people they protected

i thought the GOP was supposed to be all about backing the blue.

You're talking about merit based occupations that literally have awards for everything they do.

Sit at a desk in Iraq for 6 months and you get a medal for it.
The worst part is with end of your awards the desk jockey will likely end up with a higher award than a private that was beating feet all over the country side getting shot at, as units generally will give out different blanket awards based on rank.

Gee its almost like they knew the white supremacist insurrectionists were their friends or something

Heres ANOTHER Republican congressman saying hes never felt threatened (presumably because they were White Supramacists)

Seriously? They're handing out medals to heavily armed cops for bravely standing their ground against a bunch of LARPer's dressed as Transgender Vikings?

What's next, thanking the local mall cop for his service?

Not trying to sound like an ass as I’m all for recognizing cops who put their lives on the line but I’m curious why these cops who were assaulted would be more deserving of being honored than any other cop who is assaulted or killed in the line of duty all over the nation trying to protect citizens and communities that aren’t just politicians. If anything I’d be more interested in bringing attention to the cops who were taking selfie’s, not doing their jobs and generally acting indifferent during the storming of the capitol
I think those cops have already been disciplined and fired. Maybe these cops didn't act any more heroically than others in different locations do every day but they were protecting our lawmakers who can vote on this type of award. Just like a cop that rescues a baker might not be any more deserving of a cake than other cops but if he gets one it wouldn't be much of a surprise.
