I don’t know who this person is—but she’s actually not making a bad point. In her example, she’s talking about how in her desire to be seen as progressive and not racist, she actually made race an issue in a setting where it wasn’t an issue previously. Tbh, I think there are many well-meaning people, myself probably included, and also including non-progressives, who do things that are harmful in some way or another but it happens outside of their awareness. One of my great frustrations when discussing race issues with conservative-leaning people is that they often seem deathly allergic to even having the discussion. They want to believe that racism is a thing of the past, they don’t seem to understand why it’s even being discussed, and they often refuse to examine their own behaviors and actions even when no one is accusing them of being a racist person in general.

No, it's that "have a discussion" is never actually having a discussion, it's some creepy code for "shut up while I scold you for my own racial hangups". It's not a discussion if only 1 side is allowed to talk.

I think there are a lot of people out there that are frustrated they missed out on the social movements of the 60s and 70s.
I think there are a lot of people that are desperate to feel a part of something bigger than themselves to give them purpose.

I agree that recognizing one’s own ignorance is important, but this nut goes way off the rails. Her first book was “white fragility” where she says that all white people are guilty of racism even if they don’t mean it. In that book, she talks about how white people need to shut up, let blacks people take the lead, white people need to show deference and yield their power and influence and allow black people to have the spotlight. If that is not an example of her “nice racism” I don’t know what is

First things first: Everything she says in this video is reasonable and rational to me. I don’t see the need for uproar.
Secondly, you characterized her in your OP by saying “this bitch is seriously unhinged,” and you asserted that she claimed that “nice racism” was worse than overt racism, and I’ve now watched this video multiple times and she says nothing of the sort. So when you provide a summary of her first book, forgive me for being suspicious—but the “summary” you provided in the OP does a pretty significant disservice to what is actually said in this video.
Is your summary on White Fragility coming from having read the book (I have not read it myself)? If not, where is it coming from? I would need a lot more context before I evaluate those things, as the video I just saw made perfect sense, and there was nothing radical about it frankly.

Who's "we"? You never dictated anything, it's been the rich political class the entire time, still is now, and that’s not who you're even suggesting "listen and stop dictating everything", it's directed at truck drivers, beat cops, and the rest of the middle and working class who don't control anything. It's embedded in our systems and structures and it takes a number of years to get people to realize what it is and how they are implicated in it. We're all complicit in a society and structure that is embedded.
