1-2-3 Aljo on my scorecard. And round 2 could have been 10-8. Either way Yan lost fair and square.
Lol at clear victory. Man sherdog is sillyI don't like Sterling but he was competitive in the duration of the first fight and was only starting to fall behind a bit towards the very end but started the fight with edge.
That being said in the first fight it looked like Yan could stop him if he caught him but i didn't think Aljo had a chance to stop him at all. This fight didn't have significant moments and was a clear victory for Sterling just by control.
Draw rounds are never scored in MMA. When the damage is equal, the scoring goes to volume. When volume is equal, then the scoring goes to octagon control. Only if octagon control is equal is the round truly a draw, but that never happens. In fact, equal volume also almost never happens.
and that was back when typically a fighter had to nearly kill someone to get a 10-8They gave Griffin a 10-8 for laying on Rampage and almost everyone seemed to be ok with it. I didn't think it was enough personally.
I didn't think any judge would give a 10-8, but I'm surprised at people's response against the topic of a 10-8. Even before the rule changes on scoring criteria, 10-8's have been given out not just because of excessive offense by one guy, but also for completely negated offense for the other. If you prevent a guy from doing ANYTHING the whole round and become the only one doing damage or fishing for submissions, you can be awarded a 10-8. If you never hurt your opponent seriously, but ride them the whole round with them in danger, having to fight off your attempts, you can be awarded a 10-8.1-2-3 Aljo on my scorecard. And round 2 could have been 10-8. Either way Yan lost fair and square.
To take the title home you need to decisively beat the champ.
I really don't get the gloating from Aljo fans. It was a split D boys.
I was rooting for Aljo because he used to be exciting, while I did have him winning the fight...this was the saddest fucking title victory ever. I really mean it..and ive seen every single UFC title fight in history.I really don't get the gloating from Aljo fans. It was a split D boys.
