Social Is there something wrong with Jordan Peterson?

Do you agree with his explanation?

i see it a little differently. obviously its better to not be obese but the fact is many people are. the question is should they feel totally ashamed of themselves or should they still feel sexy and alive? ive noticed a big difference between the way black women who are heavy feel and carry themselves compared to white women who are heavy (generally). many black women carry that weight really well, still feel sexy, are not afraid to dance and move around in public and have great sex appeal.

i think white women should embrace this mentality and swimsuit models like this help this that imo

also-- wood.
Part of that though is that a lot of black women carry their weight really well so it's easier for them to still feel sexy. Other races not so much, so it's one thing to flaunt the whole sexy bbw thing when you have wide hips, big ass and breasts. It's another thing when your gut sticks out more than anything else and evething looks saggy. To be honest this asian plus size model is attractive to me though, and usually asian women don't put on weight well. I think she's mixed though

If you get morbidly obese then you should want to be making changes for yourself, so you don't have a heart attack or die an early death. I'm sorry but over eating and lack of discipline isn't something that should be celebrated, or be considered sexy. People don't need to be mean to them either, but there should still be something inside that wants to motivate them to better themselves. It's not even a vanity issue as it's more of a health issue.

The woman on the SI cover isn't ugly either, but she is overweight enough to where she should want to make some changes.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some people such as myself do not find these FAT obese woman attractive.

I get where he is coming from. Promoting obesity as healthy and beautiful because of feelings is dysfunctional to say the least, but he would probably be better off leaving that one alone. Let the people that buy into that crap choke on their own sandwiches.
Eh yea until 80% of them are in the hospital because of covid which makes leaders shut down businesses among other things and not tackle the health problem

You can't really define "beauty", so it's a stupid comment on it's face and he should know better.

He probably is getting more into just being a crass contrarian and seeing if it can keep him relevant, since he probably lost a lot of his more "serious" followers over the years after he turned out to be a bit of a hypocrite, who doesn't practice what he preaches.

He is correct morbid obesity should not be celebrated and praised.

My 600-lb life should be required viewing for kids in school.

This by far isn't even the worst case of the plus size models on magazine covers trend. This chick is pretty much on the line of what I would call fat. Solid and chubby yes but not at all blatantly obese.

Peterson is shooting himself in the foot here. If it were this particular magazine cover it would have been justified:

LMAO, her knees are in full retreat buckling from the sheer girth or her empowerment.

Looks to me like he's letting his neuroticism get the better of him.

He has always had some suspect takes on things that were clearly the product of mental illness rather than logical observations. But in his better days he was mostly in control of these impulses. As he gets older and less weary, we're probably going to see less of the good from him, and more of the bad. But that tends to be the case for most public figures in our time.

What gets them in the game, is what eventually takes them out of the game.

Surely the fact that "fat models" is a weird ass oxymoron that could only exist in our current clown world isn't news to people. In the event that it is, you should know that more people hate it than just Jordan Peterson. It's been comedy fodder for a while now :D

this only agrees with what i said in part and does not address the rest of my position at all.

im talking even black women with guts and men for that matter too. less shame equals more joy in life (even when you are fat). personally... i would like everyone to be able to not be ashamed of themselves and dont think that equates to pretending being fat is healthy.

He seems kind of off, I never understood why people listen to him
hes always been emotionally unstable and that drives extreme statements that have put him in the firing line. hes not up to the task though so will become less relevant over time.

Seems the pendulum has swung far in the opposite direction of what it was not too long ago. For years the only women on magazine covers would be rail thin which in itself is also a very unhealthy standard to have women trying to live up to thinking that’s the only type of body that is beautiful. Now it’s gone to the other extreme.

That being said, the woman on that cover doesn’t seem all that fat. Bigger than average, sure, but morbidly obese seems to be an exaggeration.

He seems like the type of guy who will say something one day and 6 months later will have the opposite view
