Favorite fighter of all time. His fights in Pride, especially his comeback after the Randleplex is what got me into MMA

Beloved by all, especially JCVD

Only my children love me like that.
Pure, undefiled love.

Basically. I became a fan of the sport hearing he was the coming of the messiah. Next thing you know Brett Rogers was making work of him as a rookie. Then Bigfoot whooped him down to sawdust. Then Hendo sonned him as a tiny man. What more can I think but have that same look he has about the situation
I used to tell my wife about him.
All I had was Pride reruns.
Then two Affliction cards where he was a monster.
And then.... Strikeforce.... The legend died.

Like him because I don't get overly attached to athletes. Don't know why anyone would "love" an athlete. Just makes no damn sense to me.

His knobslobbery, excuse making fans though? I hate them with the fire of 10,000 red giant stars.

I don't love no cagefighter or any athlete or celebrity. I do respect him but I have a hate-hate relationship with his fans. Fedor made a career out of fighting former UFC champions(from a weak era at that) who were former champions for a reason, yet his fans act like he beat current champions. He barely faced half of the best fighters in his Pride era and padded his record with cans, MW's etc. and hardly defended his belt. Not even gonna go over how badly his run in the US went. Overrated.

M1 fucked up his legacy and eventually screwed him in the end. They used fedor as a pawn. Alex was the one genetically gifted but he refused to take it seriously. Fedor stopped training seriously when he came to the USA according to his coaches. That’s a big reason for his decline in the states.

dude relied a lot on explosive strength to get out of bad situations. You could see it not working in the big foot fight. The lack of training and degradation to explosive strength.

Fedor has some amazing qualities for a fighter and heavyweight. Dude is fa St as lightning and had the best fighting IQ at one point and killer instinct. But fame, money and bad advisor can kill that and it did.

but do you know why he never face those fighter in pride? Randy also wanted to go to pride to fight fedor but UFC didn’t allow it.

trust me bro, if you saw a heavyweight with fedor athleticism , fight iq and killer instinct you would be jizzing all over the place. Back in the days, we would call you a Zuffa Zombie.

You remember how strike force was considered inferior but when they merge with UFC all of their champs became UFC Champions? So did Pride when they merge.
Anderson, rampage , nog

2010 was the best era for MMA.

Super N1gga overeem is what King Moe called reem back in those days

Alex was much bigger, while still very quick for sure, but I wouldn't be sure about being more gifted genetically or athletically in general.

He didn't really ever show that much agility and crazily explosive hips like Fedor did.

I actually agree with you that 2010 was the best era for MMA(10 to 2015). And that is why a prime Fedor performed so poorly there.

As for why he didn't fight half the best Pride HW's? The reason isn't relevant. He never fought Kharitonov, I give him a pass for never fighting his brother Aleks, and yeah the Barnett fight kept failling but it's a fact that these are guys he never fought. He never faced Cro Cop in a rematch either, the latter improved a lot and was very dangerous for him. Prime Ubereem was another one he kept avoiding.

Look at Stipe. He fought every single great HW in his era except Cain Velasquez. That's how you do it.

To be fair to the bigfoot fight, that guy was probably 290 pounds of TRT'd up man muscle. 230 pound Fedor isn't getting out from underneath a guy that big who has a ground game. Just isn't physicaly possible to be able to explode out from under that much weight.

I think he stopped taking it really serious after coming to the US as well. I get it though, he had trained and fought his entire life. Nothing wrong with relaxing a bit.

I kind of like him. Good fighter, especially in the ring. Not so much in the cage. His fanboys are annoying, though.

I can't imagine a lot of haters on here for him. Or it's more like you hate the fans who worship him.

But it would be interesting to see what the numbers will be like.

Those are odd choices to pick.
I have him as GOAT, and I don't have anything bad to say about him.
I feel fortunate to see him fighting, and I do think he is a decent person. But I don't know him.
So for me to chose that I like or Love someone I don't even know... that's a stretch.

But I Don't feel indifferent provides what I am looking for, since I am not indifferent.
I am a fan of what he accomplished inside the cage. I don't dislike his persona, but that can just be a façade.

So I voted like, but that's because it was the best available option.

I'm relatively neutral. I was a huge fan in his heyday and it was a golden age of MMA, but love and hate are pretty strong emotions for a guy I don't know.
