RBR Bivol vs Zurdo DAZN Nov.5th

Has Beterbiev been trying to make the Bivol fight? Seems like for both it would have been high risk low reward to fight before they became big names.
I havent seen either chomping at the bit for the other. Theyre both to blame.

Yes. In fact they contacted Bivol's team earlier this year and were in negotiations with them to fight in the spring. It didn't happen since Ramadan got in the way (Artur is muslim) and then Bivol was offered the Canelo fight.
Vadim Kornilov, Bivol's manager, told reporters that Bivol and Beterbiev were in negotiations for a May bout in Russia, but talks were halted because the date wasn't suitable for Beterbiev, who observes Ramadan.
Despite being a champion for years, Dmitry Bivol finally showed the world what he could do

Right. I meant in years passed. Bivol is also now trying to make the fight.

It didn't make sense for them to fight each other in say 2018. They were relatively unknown, no need to risk a loss then for a minor payday. Now the fight will be huge, so it seems the strategy paid off.

I think the fight should've already happened last year in 2021. Now the earliest we'll be able to see it is next year. Building it up appears to have paid off but it's not quite over yet. Artur still has to get by Yarde and Bivol might have to fight Canelo next (though he says he prefers unifying with Artur). Having said that, Yarde has little chance to pull the upset. He can punch but Artur is better everywhere and hits a lot harder. I only give him a puncher's chance.

and canelo would be wise to stay the fuck away from bivol. next time isn't going to be any prettier for him.

i'm optimistic we get it next year.

Still awaiting a response from the crayon clown himself on how Bivol was ducking Zurdo... i mentioned you dude, step up and take your L.

Joshua is already pretty damn good and has a similar style to Bivol. Of course Bivol does the same things Joshua does, but in a more subtle way. Joshua could definitely improve if these two joined forces.
joshua is more zurdo style

Yarde vs old Bet?
Dunno.
The same gvozdyk in reality had considerably more power than in best shape prime Kovalev ever might had in his dreams....
Bet is over the hill and clumsy while.....he really was top level am during long years. Very experienced and he isn't a caveman at all.
There also is big thing: unlike anyone Yarde had fought vs... Bet in ams had fought vs dudes larger than he and more powerful than he was.
So he isn't just power bully.
He made a lot of problems for Usyk in ams.
And Usyk vs Gvozdyk f.e with 0 doubts had been with 0 chances for Gvozdyk.

While Bet is over the hill, aging and post injuries ....
Kovalev for a reason didn't had him in the ring, Ward too.... prime Bet version in pros was torture master ....maybe even suitable for CW division if it had 190 lbs weight in limit not 200 lbs......

That poof is probably still busy pushing the Loma lost to Ortiz narrative. Despite the overwhelming majority of fans, media, and all 3 official judges disagreeing. And when I showed him Eye On The Ring's fan scorecards he claimed that I'd manipulated them. As if I created 20 accounts and separately submitted every card on there. You can't even make this stuff up lol.

Reminds me of the Romanian guy that got banned in the MT/KB sub. If anyone disagreed with him but agreed with someone else you were all clone accounts out to get him lol yep you got us, we're all clones.

Well this guy is Australian. Sounds like they're similar though. For all we know that identity is one of his alts. It wouldn't be surprising. Neither can handle taking an L when it comes to anything. Still, there are many more in his future. I'm always two steps ahead of him when we debate.

Why do these two get a pass for letting the fight marinate for a payday, but we crucify other fighters for doing the same thing?

Bivol/Biev has been arguably the best fight in boxing for a very long time now.

I think Canelo can pretty easily do a lot better than the first go around, but hes really got no business stepping in with guys the size of Bivol and Biev.

He can clear out the 3 frauds of Andrade, Charlo, and Benavidez and ride off into the sunset as an ATG.

to me, it looked like bivol still had a couple of gears left to switch through, while canelo was pushed to his limit. he's a world champion and has the heart of one, so i'm sure he'd come in even better, but bivol beat him quite comfortably the first time.

canelo beats the living piss out of andrade and charlo, and i suspect he does the same to benavidez - tough to say though, since david hasn't fought anyone worth a fuck yet, so we can't really gauge his skills. it would be the better route for alvarez, definitely. beterbiev just stomps him out.

Folks were saying Andre Ward was ducking the two best LHWs when he was fighting Kova. Theyve been the best for a long time imo.
I remember seeing an interview with ward where he rated Bivol as the best of the new generation.

I saw it. Weren't they both sitting around the table discussing things? That was a while back but Ward was highly complimentary of Bivol's skills. He likes his style.

Edit. Yeah, this was that HBO Boxing special Chasing Greatness that aired back in 2018.

Quite a few regular posters here had Loma losing that one.

Bivol is under Eddie :eek::D

That may be the case but it's a very small sample size and questionable scoring here is routine. I've looked at a bunch of fan submitted scorecards, media scores, and all the usual stuff post-fight. Eye On The Ring had 22 fan scorecards and only 9% thought Ortiz won. Media scores were also almost entirely in Loma's favor - DAZN, ESPN, USA Today, Bad Left Hook, Bloody Elbow, etc.
