Prime vs prime.
I bet Anderson would win quit easily. Although Anderson is a MW and Fedor a HW, Anderson would actually have a reach and height advantage. Judging by his success at LHW and Fedor being a 230 lbs HW, Fedor wouldn’t have a significant size advantage.
Fedor was a fast HW, but Anderson put LHW’s and even MW’s into Matrix. Most likely Fedor’s looping wide punches would only hit air, while getting snipped by Anderson’s crisp counter punches. It wouldn’t even be close in the stand up.
Fedor had good Judo trips and throws, but didn’t really shoot double leg or single leg TD’s. Anderson was a master in clinch and wouldn’t be ease to take down with Fedor’s style. Fedor also had poor fight IQ and often fought recklessly and fought better strikers standing up. I honestly think that the fight would be over before they even go to the ground.
Fedor submitted a lot of guys with most basic submissions and most of them had zero BJJ skills. Anderson had a tricky guard and could submit anyone if they lost focus.
Anderson and Fedor have 2 common opponents- Chael and Hendo. Both beat Chael, while Hendo finished Fedor but got submitted by Anderson.
I bet Anderson would finish Fedor in the 1st round TBH
