F***in Curtis Blaydes Cerrone

I thought Blaydes would use his wrestling chops asd perhaps stand a good chance of taking it.............. nope.
Man, Pavlovich has power and obviously, he gets it done but I still say his stand-up is slow, employing looping punches and poor defense- any serious striker would piece him up,

It's hard to be a Curtis Blaydes fan, he is such a hit or miss fighter, sometimes shows up in great form, sometimes looks like he's hungover.

The guy breaks my heart, and my patience sir lol.

Blaydes will always be a top 5 fighter ….only huge power beats him

pav is that good - guy is a machine and next champ for sure

I was sure Blaydes would get him down in the first minute, but he thinks he's JCVD in kickboxer lol.

Pav has power but someone that could maintain some distance might be able to pick him apart.
I don't see him as some sort of world beater, but I see it as Curtis no showing up yet again in a huge spot for him.

Feel for Blaydes here. Hovering in Top 5 spot for years but unable to get a title shot by process of elimination because of DC/Stipe bullshit. The promotion shits on him for his style and he sharpens up his hands to appease them. You want to see guys like him succeed given his resume in the division and the amount of work he's put in to rounding his skills. I'm not going to parrot the "wHy didNt hE shOot" but I'm curious what the gameplan was from Team Elevation here. After the Lewis fight you would think they would have polished the naked double legs.

Blaydes' counters were on the money but Sergei apparently has that Drogo sauce so of course he can tank them. The power discrepancy was unbelievable, every unassuming shot Pav landed wobbled Curtis. It would do wonders for Blaydes to go heavy on Greco wrestling. Shooting blast doubles after getting wobbled was not the way to go here. With a guy like Pav you need to clinch and drag his ass to the floor. Sergei wants space... deny him that

Great post sir, unfortunately we'll never know the answers to your well thought out questions.
Blaydes has deserved the TS but he's had 2 different chances to secure it since then and he failed to deliver sir, its sad but true.

He's the best pure wrestler in the HW division and thinks hes a striker smh lol.

Hes a great gatekeeper at this stage. Whoever gets to him gets a TS

Can't say you're wrong sir, because he always stumbles right at the finish line.

Loves Blaydes but man where that fight IQ my dude.
No kicks to keep distance?
No defending his head after throwing a punch?
Not gonna mention takedowns because it ended too quick and he didn't do enough to set them up.

Credit to Palvo. But Blaydes gave into his only strength.

He does it everytime sir, right when he has a shot in his view he shits himself like an abused animal ffs lol.

Sergei Pavlovich seems to just force people to think they are in a brawl with him when in reality he is throwing accurate shots.

He has power, and he is pretty accurate.
He throws a lot of hooks though.

I picked him to win son.
Also not the first time he's shit the bed when he had the TS in his view.

Don't come around here trying to stir shit up kid.
I picked him to win too. Shit happens, he lost.

Not only are most of these heavyweights unskilled, they also lack intelligence. Blaydes is a good example of why the Heavyweight division has not progress in the past few years. I though the Jones/Gane bout would have open his eyes, guess not.

Yup, absolute brain fart sir.
Its like he has a superpower (his wrestling) and he refuses to learn the beat and time to use it smh.

In his defense a lot of these fighters who come from a wrestling background lack the intelligence & commitment to expand at where they excel at. Matt Hughes 20yrs ago showed what a wrestler is capable of if they add weapons to their main offense.

I come from a wrestling background you bastad lol.
Curtis has added weapons, but the problem is he doesn't know when, or which to use in a given moment.

Happy for Pavlovich. The division needs new blood. Gutted for Blaydes but also disappointed in his performance. He might have the best overall skillset at HW apart from Jones but he really asked for it this time. Couldn't believe how long he stood with Sergei without shooting. I mean he has shown improved striking in his last 3-4 fights but that doesn't mean he should try to make some kinda statement against Pavlovich. Seems like ego cost him this fight smh.
