the game was not easy. I died a lot. You’re practically restarting at the fight if you lose so it’s very convenient to try and try again till you succeed.

Especially playing on Spectacular difficulty. Having to anticipate attacks that need to be dodged, parried or outmaneuvered was quite tricky. Almost Spidey Souls or Webs Of P lol
 
Got the plat today at 31 hours.

Had to look up what the hell the last few hidden ones were but I was impressed by how much they fleshed out some of the side quests. Definitely much improved over the first one and didn’t feel nearly as tedious.

This game is just so much fun to play. I never got tired of it but I do need to move on for now. Hopefully they get NG+ added in and sprinkle in some new suits soon.

Now to think back on my experience with quiet contemplation.

Beat it and got plat earlier today, but got up to the last mission yesterday. I enjoyed it, not perfect but still very good, and fun. Didn't expect some a of the overall narrative. I'm thinking DLC next summer. And then as other's have a Miles Morales 2 type game the year after. If wolverine is still like 3 years away this gives a smaller spider man team to create cashflow with the existing engine while majority works on Wolverine.
 
Finally beat it tonight. I dont know why anyone would complain this game is too short, I thought it went on a little too long.

Overall, I loved it. I'm not big on stories, I felt the story was really well done in some areas and super cringe in others. Other than overstaying its welcome a little, I thought it was pretty good overall.

Bottom line, this is by far the most fun I had in a video game all year and probably my game of the year unless something slips in at the last minute. Visually stunning, a blast to play (as Spider-Man) and just a top notch game all around. Insomniac has reached elite status in my eyes and I can't wait to see what they do with one of my favorite comic book characters, Wolverine.

Got the Plat as well. I must say getting the plat with this one was ridiculously easy. Probably one of the easiest. Once I had a finished the main story I only had to finish the mysterio side story and do 5 other achievements and it was done. They weren’t even close to being hard. One was actually fun to figure out (had to fly from one part of town to another without swinging).


I did have a weird bug in the game after beating it. The random enemy event would disappear from time to time. I’d swing towards it and it would just vanish once I got close. Random but often enough to annoy me greatly cause I was trying to finish the plat and needed to defeat foes.

I do have one big complaint about the story:

I really hated how the father Norman Osborne reacted in the end to how Harry ended up comatose. He shoulda been thankful and happy he was still alive considering how far gone Harry was as Venom. It sets up well for the sequels since the Spidermen will have to deal with this problem but it felt really forced. I was swinging thru as Miles Norman had a convo with Miles so that convo should have portrayed how both tried their best to save Harry. The reaction in the end really seemed off to me…

Yeah I rarely plat games because too many force dumb unnatural shit into their achievements or they’re incredibly tedious.

This, and the first game, are great examples of a more natural approach to trophies. You unlock almost everything by just playing the game.

Sony want more and more of their first party games to have easier Plats for accessibility, hence why the SM games and the recent GOW games have easy plats.

I had that bug happen a couple of times too
 
Seeing some criticisms from the incel crowd of the game being woke. Hey geniuses, the game is set in NYC which is one of the most diverse places on the planet. It would probably be more odd to not include LGBT characters considering the large community there.

Got the plat trophy today. I loved the first game and thought this one was basically better in every way. Played on the hardest mode and it was waaaaay more fun compared to the end of the first game where you just were dodging and throwing rocket launcher missiles back in every encounter. I also did not really care for those stealth challenges and other activities and much preferred what was in the sequel. The combat also was better and balanced in a good way.

story and lore were overall great. Really the only thing that bothers me is how often they take their mask off….

I’m ok with the liberties they took with the different Venom host etc. it was different but in a good way and still felt like it was not straying too far from the OG.


Not a fan of the constant tease of Peter retiring or whatever. I thought the way this game was handled from both Peter/Miles was perfect. Peter still feels like the “main” character but Miles did not feel shoehorned in or anything like that . I’m interested to see what they’ll do with the DLC and sequel. I think it might make sense to have the

DLC introduce Cindy. I was thinking Carnage was obviously gonna be DLC but maybe they can hold off on that and keep him for the third game. It’d be cool to see the DLC take place right away and then the third game maybe take a place a few years later. I can’t see them getting rid of Miles so if they do a game that takes maybe 5ish years in the future then we can get a Peter who is actually successful and have a sort of “team” consisting of him Miles and Cindy (and MJ ugh lol)

overall I still think this universe is the best Spider-Man universe outside the mainline comics (which once again is a shit show). Definitely like this world more than the MCU and others
