I saw the fucking fight. I don't need a statcast to tell me that Sean's jabs did just as much damage as DDP's as I can see his face was busted up and his eye was almost closed. Just because he didn't bleed - look at BJ Penn rarely, if ever bleeding even if he was outstruck for example - doesn't mean that the damage DDP did was greater. Some guys just don't bleed and scar tissue is real. Jesus fucking Christ. I've been watching this sport far too long to be having these stupid discussions, lol.

Aggression while you're losing the standup isn't effecting and cannot yield octagon control. Damage has nuance. Pressure isn't always effective and movement alone shouldn't score if your opponent is landing strikes. FML.

Doesn't make any sense what you just said. You basically said visible damage doesn't matter, then also said it did in the same sentence lol.

It was a close fight. Both bled and landed a ton of strikes on the other. DDP also landed a lot of body shots which people always seem to dismiss and he also got the takedowns. And you can't say someone is losing the standup when they're still constantly moving forward and being the aggressor. If his jab was as damaging as it should have been, DDP would have stopped moving forward. See this fight vs. the Adasanya fight.

Considering Strickland outlanded him multiple fold in this fight

This decision is a lot worse than people are giving it credit for.

All it does is highlight how bad people are at scoring fights.

Sean was passive, but he was still landing. During the first 3 rounds, Dricus landed almost no clean strikes whatsoever.

He basically won those fights by moving forward and looking like he's being active. While landing nothing.

I'm not here to argue Sean won,

but

You could totally be winning a fight while on the defensive. What are you talking about?

Reading comprehension fail. I said that just because one guy bled, it doesn't mean the damage he did is greater as scar tissue is a thing and Sean did damage as well, and is just as visible.

Nevertheless, I'm moving on. Sean won that fight but wasn't awarded it. It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy, lol.

Complain more. It was a close fight. I always lol when people get upset and cry about these close fights. Its also an MMA fight. If someone is just going to standup and box, don't be surprised when the person mixing it up and getting takedowns or body shots wins.

You are not a good poster.

Nah DDP 3 rounds minimum

Complain? It isn't my fault you can't read. Next time you try to call someone out for contradicting themselves, try to make some sense please. It'll help your case. Enjoy your evening.

But he did land. He missed a lot, too, 'cause Sean is a very defensively sound fighter, but being a bit inefficient shouldn't lose you a fight. You can't just tally up jabs like a scoreboard and whoever has the most wins. Du Plessis got takedowns, threw combinations, was aggressive and simply landed the bigger shots as the fight went on. I would still say 3-2 Strickland can be argued, but a robbery it was not
