He certainly did far better than expected but he didn’t shock the world, he lost!

Most people know he won, regardless of the judges scores.

He also won the hearts and minds of the fans. That's the reason he shocked the world, it was his incredible performance against the HW champ Tyson Fury. Not the rigged result.

wasn't rigged. he lost. only by a round or so, but he lost. lots of people watching were casual fans who dont know how to score boxing. Ngannou got the lone knockdown which was eye-catching but Fury boxed from the outside and won a lot of rounds on points.

you want a fix? try 115-113 on all 3 judges scorecards for Dmitry Bivol vs Canelo. Bivol won wayyy more fucking rounds than that. if the fight had been closer and not such a clear victory for Bivol, there's a good chance Canelo would've gotten the nod.
another example - the first fight between Chris Colbert and Jose Valenzuela. THATS a fix if ive ever seen one.

Fury won, but barely. thats the victory for Ngannou.

crap, even if you were born on the day you registered on this site..you would still be 14 and have a better opinion than that

Win or lose Ngannou won in life. That's all that matters.

I'm hardly a casual fan and I scored it for Francis by 1 point. But admittedly I'm more liberal with 10-10 rounds than most judges, so I wasn't surprised by the decision. When you tell judges that they HAVE to pick a winner, bias enters in and they usually go with the champ.

If that's all that matters then go away and don't talk about who you thought won the fight.

lol why would I go away? This is place to have a discussion. Don't get so sensitive over that. I thought Ngannou won and you have a different perception. So be it. It's not that big a deal. Life goes on, regardless.

This place is for intelligent discussion. Claiming that you think Ngannou won the Fury fight isn't an educated opinion. It's ignorant and/or biased. As bad as that one judge's card. Whenever a fighter does better than expected suddenly they've "won" a fight that they didn't. We see it all the time.

Who said your opinion is right? Basically it's subjective who you thought who won. There no crystal clear answer in who won. It was a very close fight, it could have went either way.

And to say it's not an intelligent discussion is ridiculous. Just because I disagree, it's not intelligent or considered right? Come on, that's pathetic.

Buddy, the majority of judges said Fury won. Go over to MMA Decisions and see for yourself. Check the media scores and not the retarded fan scores. The majority of them scored it for Fury and that includes MMA publications. There was nothing controversial about it. Ngannou clearly lost.

Believe whatever you want. That's still your opinion. Canelo thought Ngannou won, Chris Eubanks Jr. thought he won, Roberto Duran thought he won. Go pick and choose your pundit, I could do the same. It's still matter of opinion. It's not black and white as you make it out. The fight could've went either way.

As you can see one of the judges scored it Ngannou.

So to say he clearly lost is clearly wrong.

I couldn't care less what a few boxers thought that you cherrypicked out of thousands. They also get punched in the head for a living. Many of them don't even watch boxing. It's just about making a living for them.

The point is that I didn't have to pick and choose. The official judges agree with the one site that you MMA fans rely on whenever you believe there's a controversial decision in your own sport. That should be the end of the discussion right there.

Whatever you could believe whatever you want to believe. But the point is it's a controversial decision, a bunch of people thought Ngannou won in a close fight, if you can't take it for what it is. Than that's too bad.

The fight was not a clear lost. When it's a split decision by the judges. And the judges who scored it Fury had the scores also in a close fight. It's definitely not a clear lost for Ngannou. Yes he lost the fight based on the judge scoring, but it's still doesn't take the fact it was a close fight. That could've went either way.

There was no controversy. It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or by a mile. Fury clearly won. These people that thought Ngannou won are, and I repeat, ignorant and/or biased. They don't know how to score professional boxing matches.

That one judge's card for Ngannou wasn't worth anything. In every big fight we end up with a weird card. Did you see Joshua vs Usyk 2? They called that a Split Decision as well. Meaning one of the judges somehow scored 7 rounds to Joshua. Well, Joshua's own promoter (Hearn) laughed at that.

Tell me this why is Anthony Joshua willing to fight an 0-1 boxer in Ngannou if he lost clearly to Fury? Joshua wouldn't risk fighting someone with basically no experience in boxing. There obviously a reason he's fighting him, it's because he thought Ngannou fought valiantly and he probably thought Ngannou won that fight.

Again why would Anthony Joshua of all boxers at his point of his career take an 0-1 boxer who you thought clearly lost?

And talking about bias, you clearly sound very biased and not open minded.

Reread what I wrote. Ngannou did better than expected. His stock rose significantly even though he lost. That doesn't mean he "won" the fight though. Just dropping Fury, which he did, would've been enough for his stock to rise.

How can I be biased when I'm not the one with the edgy take? You are. I scored it the same way the majority of judges and media did.

If you think that way, than it's obviously not a clear lost. Even the judges scored it for Fury had the fight close. Come on man, you have some sort of superiority complex because you're a boxing expert of some kind.

Anyways, we're not going agree, take it easy enjoy the boxing match with Ngannou/Joshua.

What you don't seem to understand is that close fights can still have a clear winner. That's what we saw.
