So far the new champs of 2024 don't seem promising. Topuria is calling out Conor Mcgregor and is already talking about skipping contenders and putting the division on hold and DDP seems like he figures he's also company CEO since he's got the belt now.

But Adesanya doesn't deserve an immediate rematch 1. because so, so tired of rematches and 2. he lost to Strickland, not Du Plesis. Why should he get an instant title shot against a guy he didn't lose the title to?

It's one of the few times I wish the UFC had an iron fist and forced champs to defend (assuming the challenger truly deserves it).

Sorry Sherbro, I was scratching my head at your entire post. Didn't quite follow the flow of it. Seems like you're criticizing DDP's attitude, and also at the same time feel that Izzy does not deserve to fight Sean strickland again and does not deserve to fight DDP for the title too?

If he doesn't feel like he is ready, then he shouldn't sign a contract. Totally reasonable. Seems like he has a great team behind him that is advising him correctly.

The only people who are mad that he is not rushing back compromised are those who hate him and want him to lose. Not a fan of his fighting style, but he should be as close to 100% as he can before taking any fights.
