Media Bryan Battle vs Ange Loosa No Contest GIFS

Well, now there's some heat for a rematch - the fight might actually show up on folk's radar

Although I was not thrilled that the dude opted out, Battle legit thumb-kabbobbed his eye, so he needs to calm his ass down with all the spazzing out after the fact.

Keep your friggin fingers in a fist, and don't "paw" out, and no such events occur.
If you were supposed to keep your fingers in a fist then MMA fights would use boxing gloves, legit the worst take i've ever read on sherdog

Depends a bit on the situation of course, a lot of eye pokes I think thats a legit criticism as people are throwing pure strikes(and more fighters should be DQed for it IMHO) but this seemed like it was Battle trying to push his opponent off of him.

Don't push away a guys face with an open hand. Regardless of whether Loosa could see or not, he took a pretty nasty finger/thumb in the eye. That's Battle's fault in the end. I hate when guy's talk shit after a fight ends on a foul they committed.

Conveniently leaves out Loosa’s headbutt. Also lol at that moron literally threatening to kill Battle but not not keeping that same energy during the actual fight.

Soooo trashy of the commentary team and interviewers to essentially encourage Battle for gouging his thumb in Loosa's eye and treat Battle as the winner, only interviewing him and giving no interview to Loosa. You want the win, don't get your thumb in your opponent's eye, and maybe avoid getting your open fingers anywhere near the eyes so accidents don't happen. Battle failed to do this so he deserved to miss out on the win money and deserved the NC result on his record

Bad eyepoke to be fair, but Loosa was probably gonna get finished.

Battle was 100% correct though. Guy was definitely looking for a way out. Plenty of times guys with much worse eye pokes went on to win fights or be mostly unaffected. Ref fucking sucks. Was handled so fucking poorly. Should have told and given him his 5 minutes before trying to work out what was going to happen. Lisa was hamming it up with whining noises and body language big time though. Then the posturing once in a safe space was comical. Still on battle for the poke but it was a push off a clinch and he had just taken a headbutt

I'm still a fan of Battle. He may come off as an asshole but you can't say he doesn't go out there and look for the kill. Dude has serious power, who knows his limit if he keeps landing bombs on guys? Shit happens, and I don't think he's a constant cheater so all power to him.

how are you supposed to push an opponent away without an open hand?

Accidents happen and people claiming it’s battles fault for pushing off are delusional. Posting on someone’s head or face is an unavoidable technique. Sometimes this shit happens when you are defending takedowns. If it happens multiple times then yeah, you are obviously wrong and need to change something. But if it happens once it’s part of the game and the other guy deserves a break

It's beyond time they start DQing eye-pokers, this has to end in the sport

Battle shouldn't foul the guy and then act like a douche.. Ref waived the fight without giving him time.

Simple solution.. Rebook the fight and see what happens.

Whole thing is the refs fault

Didn’t give him his 5 minutes before asking if he could see - so stupid

Same idiot that told Amorim to stop on her submission , then said continue , then made her submit her twice

Commission needs to fire that goof
Bad night for him, he's usually decent. But the 5 minutes woulda done nothing. Zilch. He wanted out no matter what. His eye was wide open and everything lolillol

there was a headbutt then an eye poke so mitigating incidents. The 5 minute rule needs flexibility, how about reschedule option later in the card. Take a break , if can recover, do it after a fight or several. If not then NC. Oh well not a pivotal fight for division .
Yeah, the manner in which the rules are changed is very slow and not how we need it to be, very frustrating.

I mean it wasn't a Jones outstretched fingers foul. He was going for a clinch, palms slightly up. Guy wanted out, pretty obvious. But what can you do u guess. It only makes the sport worse
