My theory is that to be a pro fighter you need to be self confident to the point of being delusional. Most "normal" quickly realize that the sport is brutal and damaging to your health.
That attitude can get you to the top but it can also be your downfall once you decline because you are so...
Interesting that 125 went from almost being cancelled to being quite exciting. Demetrius Johnson leaving may be the best thing that happened to that weight class.
And the more money they make the less they have to keep fighting into their 40s and get even more brain damage. The fight fans who say money is not important are not going to help an old fighter who is broke and has health issues.
I wasn't complaining. This guy has huge leverage right now to make big money. But he has to understand that UFC is part fighting and part show. He probably can make multiple times more money if he embraces the show aspect of the game. If he has smart advisers they will tell him and help to...
Maybe it shouldn't be a prerequisite for making money but in reality it is. You don't have to go WWE but show some excitement. Especially once he gets PPV shares it's his job to sell the fight.

"If killing machines who are trained to be some of the toughest people on the planet are coming home from war and killing themselves over PTSD, anxiety and depression, it can destroy anyone's life."

I am pretty tall for my weight class and I always found fighting short guys who understood what they had to do very difficult. It's really hard to punch them when they are low. the only thing what works well is push front kicks but that is also hard to keep up over a round.
I am actually very...
If they both weigh 145 I don't see a problem. Also, such an extreme height difference can work well for the shorter fighter, If you always have to punch downwards you lose power. The shorter guy also has an advantage in the clinch. And body shots are basically impossible.
