I think Cain matches up a little too well against Overeem given overeem's cardio is meh. If he had great cardio then it could be one of the best fights ever. I just think Cain would take him down. Also overeems chin is a bit worn down by now, he has a good ground game, but even Cain might be...
Cain v Reem would be great, but even better would be Cain v Stipe. I obviously favor Miocic with his superior power and good wrestling and movement and cardio now. Having said that, Cain pushes a ferocious pace, when he was in his prime he was a scary beast. I suspect he was on a whole lot of...
Moraes outfought assuncao, seemed like he outlanded him 1.5:1 or so. You can argue assuncao did more damage but it's hard to surpass that disparity in strikes. Sherdog unanimously had Moraes rounds 2/3. Then the UFC judges all have different scores lol. Sorta weird eh?
Yeah I pray Woodley is -225, stylistically I can't see how Maia wins. Then again he always proves people wrong. I was one of those guys betting against him like a year ago thinking he was getting old and his one dimensional style would be solved. Hats off to the guy I love watching him...
Masvidal is very very good. He has no weaknesses really. He just ran into a complete anomaly, someone so amazing at one aspect of the game he somehow continues to win despite not being well rounded in Maia.
Woodley is a bad matchup for Maia though, such a physically gifted athlete. If...
I suppose i'm more of a purist so I don't really care about the hype as much. I like the technical commentary of joe/DC. Not that they're top notch in that regard, but they're certainly more than competent in their respective areas.
That's perplexing by Sal. Branch landed more strikes than Jotko and Masvidal landed more strikes than Maia, apparently he doesn't factor in damage =p. jk, I thought Jotko probably did more damage, but he was too passive. I feel he deserved to lose the fight given he wasn't actually fighting...
Am I the only one who thought Goldberg was kinda meh? He has a cool voice and all but he didn't add much to the strategic commentary.
I like Goldberg for the nostalgia he brings me back to from the early UFC days. But i'm much preferring Joe/DC.
I was confident Branch would get the split just because it was pretty obvious he won the 1st/3rd, but I was a bit worried he'd get robbed since you never know with these incompetent judges.
I thought Jotko won the 2nd round, I saw him landing more strikes, and he was actually active that round.
But yeah very disappointed in Jotko's lack of aggression. It looked like he was trying to replicate Dom's style. His footwork looked good and all but damn you gotta show some heart and...
I think if you can spot a difference in how someone appears to be handling the stare downs it most likely is a legit reaction to that specific opponent. Assuming that fighter isn't all over the place generally.
People often jump to conclusions though and because someone appears to be nervous...
In Robbie's defense he matches up poorly with Larkin.
Larkin is an elite striker he often dominates guys if it's pure stand up. The wrestling definitely saps some of his power etc.
Robbie has fought some awesome competition but he has too many robberies, and too many close fights.
I thought Condit beat Lawler, Rory was up 3-1 going into the 5th on the judges cards and Lawler arguably robbed Hendricks last fight, although he may have gotten robbed their 1st fight as well...
