It’s hard to improve in back to back fight camps. Improvements really come during regular training not camps. The camps are really designed to sharpen the weapons you already have not learning new stuff.
I doubt it’s going to be that similar. Hooker likes to hang out at range and counter so barb had all the time in the world to set his feet and chuck power at Hooker
Well that’s kind of the question. Until Woodley gases Usman is in danger... and to tax his gas tank Usman is going to have to constantly wade into more danger, otherwise Woodley can conserve himself ala Wonderboy. If Usman survives and manages to gas Woodley then Tyron is in serious serious...
Hard to call because he’s not a feint and footwork pressure fighter. He’s a presence pressure fighter, always in your face, and if he’s constantly in Woodleys face I don’t know if I trust his defense to not eat something big.
I think people wildly over simplify the stipe fight and say... he beat him with wrestling. Well yes sort of but if all it took was wrestling then Curtis Blaydes would have done the same thing. Stipe used his jab to drawn out reactions from Ngannou and then was able to counter the counters...
I’ve worn contacts in all my fights. Sometimes you lose one sometimes you don’t. Incentive to keep your head protected. That being said some athletic commissions allow them and some don’t.
Was really hoping for better odds on Reyes. The guy has 9 fights, his biggest win is canonier and he’s facing a guy who’s a tricky as hell match up for someone who’s green in the sport. The pure horsepower Dominick brings is impressive and he has a nice southpaw double attack, but osp is a freak...
It’s a different situation though. It’s exactky why Jose Aldo feeds obvious single legs anytime he faces a takedown threat. He avoids getting blasted through and limp legs out. It’s not impossible of course buts it’s certsinly not simple. Otherwise every southpaw would end up taken down non stop.
The open stance sets up an opportunity for a snatch single. It’s not really any easier. It just presents a different takedown. And I could be wrong but in my estimation Woodley is more of a blast double guy rather than a snatch and chain wrestle guy
I think we agree here. The dudes actual grappling technique is a lot less of a concern than his heart and wits to implement it. As soon as iuri started reaching for the knee bar he stopped and defended and got ready to tap. Exactly like you said it looked like he was afraid of getting hurt...
That sub to me had absolutely nothing to do with “pure skill” and more to do with Sanders having a total bonehead moment, which might be even more worrying. Dude im a black belt at Renzos, I roll with guys who eat breathe and sleep leg locks and I can’t imagine getting caught in a knee bar like...
I can’t see the reason to the wide line on the Tuck/Dober fight. Dober has pretty decent kickboxing but not overwhelmingly so with a big liability in bjj. With his willingness to shoot into takedowns I can see him getting caught out while I don’t see his muy thai really being something that...
I’d say Elkins is Gaethjes equal when it comes to sheer determination. Elkins fights to the last minute. And MJ fades. I think Elkins breaks him at some point.
