Muay Thai rules at lumpinee stadium

The main rule I can remember (it was 15years ago) is that you need to get a Thai to bet on your behalf.

    Rumored Joshua vs Zhang

Zhang is a bad style for AJ - southpaw, decent speed, good reach, hits heavy and with a variety of shots. He's also 40 and this is his golden opportunity to set up a fight with the winner of Fury/Usyk. It's a genuinely dangerous fight for AJ and doesn't make sense financially, but kudos to AJ...

The Reality of Street Fighting and the Myth of the Street Fighter

You are ignoring one of the most important aspects of a real fight: aggression. One's willingness to use violence, lack of/control of fear of getting hurt or legal/social consequences is very important. I have seen guys who I know are skilled martial artists/kickboxers etc get demolished becuase...

Claimed 685lb bench at 258lb in the gym

I thought similar as soon as I saw the video - if he was a shortarse it might be believable, but an almost 700lbs bench at 6ft+ but less than 300lbs seems very unlikely. Also, only one spotter seems unnecessarily dangerous for such a high weight and a supposed PR. On a side note, I had a...

How does Chisora rank as a journeyman/gatekeeper?

Big Del Boy fan, he's consistently shown tremendous heart and a solid chin, shouldn't be underestimated by anyone and has undoubtedly been the victim of some harsh decisions over the years. To call him a journeyman is a disservice - he's given plenty of world class boxers a proper scrap down...

    635kg / 1400lb Equipped Bench Press Record

    A) There's no way that lift should count as there was no lockout. B) Saying you're the "equipped" champion is like saying you have the biggest dick when wearing an extender.

Who Does Jake Paul call out after TKo (ahem)?

I'm no fan of this YouTube circus, but Jake Paul has essentially spent the last 3 years training his arse off with a proper team around him, and is undoubtedly a legit boxer at this point. The weird thing is he gets a lot of hate for something that most ordinary people can only dream about: How...

Who's the P4P best boxer as of today?

I wasn't advocating for Morell, nor that résumés are the deciding factor for p4p status. My point is that the skills Usyk has mastered are necessarily different than that of Crawford or Inoue because he is fighting at weights with a much higher chance of a KO and damaging shots. The super...

Who's the P4P best boxer as of today?

By your own definition Usyk shouldn't be discounted because as you say he has probably the best resume - AJ, Briedis, Bellew, Glowacki, Gassiev etc - and in 2 very competitive and dangerous divisions. The skillset that works at HW is not necessarily the same or as aesthetically pleasing as those...

How often do fighters really get KO'd in sparring?

Definitely, a hard hook to the body to teach a young pup a lesson is an integral part of sparring imo. I also find lots of tough little guys think they can take the piss when sparring with HWs as we can't hit hard back (our coach has a no uppercut rule for the bigger guys for general sparring)...

Would Crawford be competitive with Canelo?

Canelo had 60 fights before Bivol, and when at middleweight and light middleweight he (or his team) was well known for BS around the weight - from catch-weights to rehydration clauses. He avoided GGG for years while trying to set up a catch-weight that he knew would drain him.

How often do fighters really get KO'd in sparring?

Yea that's my experience too, especially as I'm in a standard gym where sparring is mixed weight. A lot of people seem to think it's ok to hit extra hard to the body.

Who's the P4P best boxer as of today?

As good as Inoue is and Crawford's destruction of Spence was, Usyk dominated the CWs then moved up to the premier division and made the holder of 3 belts look like an amateur twice.

Would Crawford be competitive with Canelo?

Khan was lucky to walk away from that without permanent damage. Canelo is a weight bully at the best of times - that fight should never have been sanctioned. Crawford is a top 5 p4p but Canelo is just too big and powerful.

    P4P #1 is?

Usyk is a CW ATG but if he ever beats Fury (whose ducking him imo) he becomes a P4P ATG. Yea the media, especially US media, will be all over the winner of Spence Crawford but it doesn't make them P4P champs.

    P4P #1 is?

Usyk Inoue Canelo Winner of Crawford/Spence Bivol Moving up the super light classes just doesn't match dominating the CW division and then spanking AJ twice. If Usyk beats Fury he's ATG territory imo. Same goes for Crawford - unless he beats Spence in style there's no way he's been more...

News July 25 Naoya Inoue vs Stephen Fulton

Random time for a fight means I could spend my lunch break watching Inoue schooling Fulton while sipping a cold pint. Another great performance, has to be the p4p champ.

Wilder vs AJ a done deal?

Ruiz clipped him because a quick and skilled in fighter is a danger to punchers/brawlers. AJ correctly switched styles to beat Ruiz, but then never switched back, and if he sits back on Wilder he'll most likely get starched.

Wilder vs AJ a done deal?

The problem is the old aggressive AJ that would push forward and pressure behind the stiff jab and then unload combos in the pocket hasn't been seen since Ruiz 1. That AJ dismantles Wilder imo just as Fury did - keep Wilder on the back foot and set him up for the uppercut/hook KO. The new AJ...
