So I'm dumbfounded. Should people like Bill Gates, Walt Disney, Jobs, etc who change the world NOT be Billionaires? Where do you limit their worth? Half a billion? Pure nonsense. People who change the world with their inventions shouldn't have a cap on their worth.

He plans on paying for the poor people HC and College by destroying thousands of jobs, making our military weak, and taxing the rich so hard they leave the country...? Surely this will get him elected. He is going to be eaten alive tonight.

Wow...is Bernie trying to sabotage his own campaign or is he just so crazy that he thinks a majority of Americans will go for some of these specific proposals? He was better of just spouting socialist platitudes/...fooling young millennials....these specifics will torpedo him IMO: (doesn't really bother me...I just think a Trump v Bernie General Election would be epic)

Bernie Sanders reveals 'major plans' to be funded by new taxes, massive lawsuits, military cuts
Bernie Sanders unexpectedly released a fact-sheet Monday night explaining that he'd pay for his sweeping new government programs through new taxes and massive lawsuits against the fossil fuel industry, as well as by slashing spending on the military, among other methods.
The move sought to head off complaints from Republicans and some rival Democrats that his plans were economically unrealistic, especially after a head-turning CBS News interview in which the frustrated Vermont senator said he couldn't "rattle off to you every nickle and every dime" about his proposed expenditures.
He released his plan on his website just minutes after promising to do so during a CNN town hall.
However, the fact-sheet highlighted for the first time that many of Sanders' expected cost-saving measures relied on conjecture and best-case scenarios. For example, Sanders' document asserts that a "modest tax on Wall Street speculation ... will raise an estimated $2.4 trillion over ten years" and, in one fell swoop, make all "public colleges, universities and trade schools tuition-free ... and cancel all student debt over the next decade."
The proposal specifically would place a "0.5 percent tax on stock trades – 50 cents on every $100 of stock – a 0.1 percent fee on bond trades, and a 0.005 percent fee on derivative trades."
The National Review has likened a tax on so-called "Wall Street speculation" to a de facto tax on savings, saying the Sanders plan "would mean paying $25 to the federal government every time you traded $5,000 worth of stock — or five times what you’d pay the typical online brokerage in fees. ... Over the long term, that imposes serious costs on actively traded funds such as the ones containing many Americans’ retirement funds."

...Sanders claimed to be able to raise "$3.085 trillion by making the fossil fuel industry pay for their pollution, through litigation, fees, and taxes, and eliminating federal fossil fuel subsidies." He has repeatedly suggested on the campaign trail that he would direct the Justice Department to pursue the fossil fuel industry, although it was unclear how successful that legal strategy would be.

...Reducing defense spending by "$1.215 trillion" would be achievable by "scaling back military operations on protecting the global oil supply," Sanders' fact-sheet continued.

...As the numbers were released, Sanders doubled down on his comments praising Cuban dictator Fidel Castro's "literacy program," saying it was a positive outcome from the violent Cuban Revolution that literacy rates quickly rose.

What kills me is that none of the Dems seem to want to go after him. He's probably been attacked the least by the field, and he's got some whoppers that could be ripped to shreds. Only guy who got a decent shot in on him, was the guy who was gang raped on stage. Do these idiots know that it's not Bloomberg they should be worried about? Bernie is running away with this shit, and they're still treating him with kid gloves, and getting into little personal spats with everyone but Bernie.

Ah' well, more ammo left on the table for Trump, I guess.

Here is a great summary video of how many in the Mainstream media are doing everything they can to rationalize away Bernie's success, as not success, and to instead applaud everyone else for lesser results.

They have done it to Trump for 4 years now. I'm more perplexed Bernbots are astounded this is happening, especially after the 2016 debacle.

Claiming that Bernie has been attacked the least is pretty far out there. Biased moderators, media narratives, Warren calling Bernie a sexist, the "bernie bro" narrative, the socialist narrative, the heart attack, Pete and Biden dedicating their Nevada losing speech to going after Bernie, so on. The only reason why they are not going head to head with him in the debates and instead using underhanded tactics, is because whenever they try they end up looking really bad and dropping in the polls. Warren fell of a cliff after she tried to call out Bernie on the stage and imply that he was a sexist and a liar. People trust him.

Can't watch right now, but I'm a Seth Meyers fan. He's a good dude.

Surprisingly good video! Didn't expect that.

Most of the material could have been taken straight from this thread lol!

Very good video.

How Michael Bloomberg is spending his money: His team are running generic ads 24/7 in West Virginia that mostly feature some black "community organizer" named Abdul who was obviously paid, endorsing Bloomberg. That's going to gain him a lot of support here.

You know the senior VP of programming was holding his contract up and threatening to rip it up if Chris did not apologize.

Obviously he's a moron, but I'm expecting to be very let down by centrist liberals when the red-baiting really kicks into gear.

Even with this Cuba stuff, it would be nice for liberals to take the very common sense stance of "yeah, not literally everything about that country and that famous world leader is bad" instead of continuing to passively assist the narratives that countries to which US policy is hostile are evil hellholes without any redeeming qualities. It's not like anyone expects them to take a nuanced stance on foreign policy or develop a critique of imperialism and national sovereignty. Just acknowledge very basic reality.

Wait...you have internet?

This is complete and utter bullshit. He's been attacked non-stop by the media and the other candidates for the duration of this cycle.

Biden, Pete, Klobuchar, and other centrists who are no longer in the race tried to hammer him on Medicare for All and his other universal programs. Biden has repeatedly claimed that pushing M4A is an affront to Obama's legacy.

No other candidate in this field has had to deal with the media actively trying to discredit him every step of the way.

In the last six weeks, Warren has accused to him of sexism, his chief surrogates have been attacked multiple times for doing their jobs and advocating on behalf of the campaign, people accused his supporters of threatening the culinary union bosses (which failed miserably in the NV caucus). Now, he's getting attacked for making the exact same statements about Cuba in the early 80s that Obama did four years ago.

Pure lunacy. Bloomberg has managed to buy his way to 15% in the national polls without doing any real campaigning. Being able to throw around that much money is a ridiculous advantage. He's a danger to the entire field if they don't let people know what his actual political ideology is.

Also, if Bloomberg gets the nomination, it's a guaranteed loss to Trump. A lot more people are going to stay home than they did in 2016.

"Orange man bad" isn't going to motivate people to go to the polls when the alternative is just as bad.

What ammo would that be? What exactly is this magical oppo research that people think is the silver bullet to take down Bernie? There are Bloomberg surrogates on cable news today complaining about an essay that he wrote in the 1970s. They've got nothing.

If this magic super terrible oppo existed, I guarantee you that Clinton would have used it when he upset her in Michigan in 2016.

This blew me away.

538 has Bernie’s odds at over 50%. If that’s true and we assume he does well in SC he’s no longer a weak front runner. It’s looking like his race to lose.
