Trump's plan all along was to overthrow a democratically elected president. And the GOP by and large went along with it. But fortunately for America, some Republicans put the Constitution above party loyalty.

They got it wrong. They had to know Pelosi was going to make that move.
It was Mitch who threw a monkey wrench in their plan. Mitch convened as well. Mitch tolerated Trump and also knew Trump in the long run is not good for the party. Mitch has been in the game a long time and knew this foolish plan was bad for his donors, so he made his move. Which is the right move and surprised me because it showed he still cared for this country. What Trump and crew were planning was fucking treason.

If Trump really and truly wanted that, all he had to do was ask his base - the most heavily armed demographic in the history of the world - to take up arms, and they would have. Just look how easily the Taliban took over. You don't think 70 million people armed to the teeth could do a little more damage than borrowing Nancy Pelosi's stand? And you do not think a huge majority of the military support Trump too? It's like these people that say "Drumpf threw an insurrection"...........yet, it was the first unarmed insurrection in history and conducted by soccer mom's taking selfies for the dank boomer memes? Makes less than no sense.

Rather, what Trump wanted was proof of a fair and clean vote, and we have not got that, and we will not get it until we scrap the current system and go to paper and pencil ballot. Just look at what a mess Maricopa is, then times that by every county in America. We have known for ages that both sides engage in fraud (namely the neocons and neolibs/candidates hooked in with intelligence agencies) and the reason companies like Diebold are in bed with these corporate politicians is because they are partners in crime: Diebold would rig the election for them and the politician would make sure that the same rigged machines kept on being used vs changing to paper and pencil ballots like every elections integrity expert says we should.

White House documents released show that Trump and company were spreading misinformation they knew wasn't true. Trump was not looking for proof of a fair election. He claimed fraud in 2016 even before the election started and won. He tried to find fraud in 3 million illegals voting that fell apart in 3 months. Trump's ego will not allow him to lose so he will sow discord whenever possible to give himself an excuse if it's needed.

70 million Americans wouldn't take up arms. Most people aren't willing to sacrifice their cushy lives for someone like Trump.

You might want to watch TV coverage of Jan 6th because you somehow have no idea what happened if you think it was a bunch of boomer soccer moms looking for dank memes.

No he could never take over militarily. His base isn't going to fight for him in any meaningfull numbers and on the insignificant chance they do, they will be slaughtered by the US military and American civilians opposed to a coup.

The situation in Afghanistan is not remotely comparable. The US destroyed the Taleban when they engaged them on the battlefield. The reason the Taleban retook power is because they were able to run across and hide in Pakistan where most people were sympathetic. Trump also backstabbed the Afghans when he signed the withdrawl deal with the Taleban.

The US did NOT settle Afghanistan. In America the people opposed to a Trump militant takeover are not a foreign army, they are Americans, so they are not going to just leave. The idea that civilians can take on the US military on US soil is just unfathomable.

What Trump and his cronies tried to do was intimidate and pressure Republican election officials to overturn the vote. The accusations of voter fraud was just lies invented by Trump and Co. because they never provided any evidence to back up their claim.

I believe the auditors also say they have pictures from security cameras of the people who deleted various files as well, along with addresses, names, phone number, etc used on various illegal ballots, among other info that had to be redacted and/or left out of the audit report
