Law Biden revokes Trump order to punish statue vandals

This is what the Democrat Party wants and they don't want the vandalism to be punished.

This is Marxism.

“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”

― George Orwell, 1984

Irony of right wing types quoting 1984...

All of what you said is true.

That being said. If you took up arms against the U.S. seeking it's destruction, you get no statue, no base named after you, and you should be resigned to the annals of treachery.

I love my country, warts and all. It's not perfect but the goal is progress...

Not perfection.
That’s my thought too. I can’t understand why the confederate flag was ever allowed to be flown. I suppose memorials of the dead can be a different issue. As I think it shows respect to honor your adversary. But, flying the stars and bars? They rebelled against the union and lost.

The statue-destroying fad seems to be over for now, with Trump out of the office.

Wait but Republicans love there criminals more right Trump and the people that stormed the capital.

500 people arrested at the capital.

That's what, a couple months of shootings in Chicago?

And for Republicans it's supporters of the Confederacy.
Aren't you the guys always saying the Dems are the party of slavery, the Klan and the Confederacy, so how come you Republicans are supporting the glorification of Confederate leaders.
<WhatIsThis>

Turns out you can be against mobs of 20 year olds vandalizing and destroying public property without "supporting the confederacy". Do you think mobs of conservatives should go and torch the giant Lenin statue in Seattle, or any of the Che Guevarra statues? Let's just have competing mobs of vandals racing to see who can tear down more shit. What could go wrong?

Do you think they stop at confederate leaders once you give 20 year olds permission to decide which public statues and monuments get to stay and go? And course they proved me right, and also tore down and defaced statues of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Lincoln, Christopher Columbus, Junipero Serra, Marcus Daly, Ronald Reagan, Sophie Wright, Francis Scott Key, the virgin Mary, the "el soldado" statue, Philip Shuyler, Frank Rizzo, Edward Carmack, Ulysses Grant, they burned a statue of an elk.

Lol at being so goddamn stupid that you think 20 year old should decide what stays and what goes by mob vandalism. Yeah, let's let 20 year old activists decide school curriculum too, because who needs history that hurts someone's feeling, amirite?

Democrats do love their criminals...
It’s their voting base! Why else do they fight so hard to allow inmates and felons to vote, they know where the vote goes! Immigrants is the same mentality, turned California blue with mass immigration of South Americans who vote Democrat. Like tucker said, if one million polish people went to the border and tried to sneak in, Biden would declare it a national emergency and immediate label it “crisis”. Why? Because polish people vote republican! Politicians don’t care about you, they don’t make decisions based on what’s best for America, they only do what keeps THEM in power.

not statues! How will I learn about history? And what things I should be mad about all the time? WON'T SOMEONE THINK OF THE STATUES??????????????????????????

Good. 10 years for vandalizing a statue is absurd. People get less time than that for some truly heinous shit.

You know how you don't do 10 years for vandalizing a statue?

You don't vandalize a statue.

But hey, continue on defending criminals. It's what you guys do best.

Many of these statues went up long after the civil war during periods of racial unrest. They were an intentional slap in the face to black people.

Fetishizing and celebrating racists and traitors is bad.

The state capitol of Mississippi has a bust of Nathan Bedford Forrest displayed. He was a grand wizard in the Ku Klux Klan, and the Republican party had blocked removal of the bust.

How would you feel if you were black and a Klan leader was celebrated in your state capitol?

Let’s keep it real.

How do you feel that H Clinton, who some would argue is the real power behind their political dynasty, has literally said that she looks up to and loves Robert Byrd?

Wrong again.

This statues belong in a museum with placards that explain how heinous these people were and how they should never be celebrated.

Or,

You could simply record why they are people of note. Their particular actions and place and time in history.

And let people decide for themselves how they should feel about them.

I wonder if this applies to all statues and not just confederate statues? One would probably be charged with a hate crime if they went after a black hero statue

You guys don't have a problem with Revolutionaires bringing down King George iii. Or US marines bringing down Saddan, or the young folks who tore down statues of Communist leaders in the former Soviet bloc states.

If you put it to a vote and most people decide to keep it then what; isn't majoritarian chauvinism also just mob justice.

And that's why they belong in museums and not displayed prominently. There's a bust of a grand wizard of the KKK in a state capitol and Republicans have fought like hell to keep it there. Most of the statues were put up by the United Daughters of the Confederacy, a group that publicly lauded the KKK. The statues were mostly put up during Jim Crow and celebrate racists and seditionists. Why are these statues so important to you and why do you feel they should hold positions of honor? They're "heroes" in the fight for sedition and in support of slavery.

Museums, not places of honor.

Let’s keep it real.

How do you feel that H Clinton, who some would argue is the real power behind their political dynasty, has literally said that she looks up to and loves Robert Byrd?

I'm not a fan of Hilary Clinton, she's a pure political creature.

I'm not saying people aren't going to love despicable people. I'm saying they shouldn't be honored, because in doing so you honor what they stood for. Honoring statues of people who fought to preserve slavery is an insult to ancestors of the enslaved. I'm not sure how this is even a discussion.

But hey, continue on defending criminals. It's what you guys do best.

Do you honestly believe ten years is a fair sentence for vandalism?

That's more than some people get for manslaughter, you must REALLY love these statues and what they represent.

The ones immediately following major wars and the collapse of oppressive governments? Yeah, those failed, oppressive regimes are the ones our "young folks" want to implement here, and think they're in some kind of revolution here and tearing down "the old regime". None of them are actually upset about any statues, they just hate their dads and want a government that will be their new dad instead of one that protects individual rights and property. It's been tried, and it has a 100% failure rate, but maybe if we had a bunch of college kids who don't even know what gender they are, it could work this time.

Your side has no problem honoring communist socialist heroes who have killed millions with their ideology.

And that's why they belong in museums and not displayed prominently
So does the stautes of Washington the slave owner also belong in a museum.

Those statues should not have been put up in the first place. The Statues in the former Soviet Bloc countries came down when it was politically feasible to do so. The Confederate statues are came down last year because it was politically feasible to do so. It was not politically feasible to bring them down prior to 2020.

Why was it "politically feasible" to tear down George Washing statues last year? What's your big fear in admitting that you think you're in a revolution to overthrow the US similar to those other places you mentioned? I think we both know that it's because you want it replaced with the most disastrously failed political system in centuries and are understandably too cowardly to admit that's what you want.
