Don’t hate it, felt like Dulgarian didn’t do much damage in the second while he was wrestling and CRod landed some good strikes after he popped up toward the end. Could have seen it either way though.

I thought he lost but no doubt his heart and durability is top shelf

Would of liked to see him get the finish in the 3rd

How did he actually win though?

Because he lost r1 very badly.

Then lost r2 pretty clearly.

Then won round 3 very clearly.

But like, even if r1 was 10-9 for Dulg and Rod got a 10-8 r3, then it still should have been a draw because Dulg clearly won round 2.

Like, what the fuck did Rod do to win r2?

Not sure how in the world the 2nd round could possibly have been scored for Rodrigez. Strikes were very close but 4:11 of control time and 4 TDs should clearly tell you who won the round. Striking and Grappling are supposed to be weighed evenly. TDs and dominating the grappling should make the difference when strikes are 18-15. Nothing either fighter landed were very impactful. Tiny advantage in strikes should not erase 4:11 of control time. Thats more then 80% of the time in the round being controlled by one fighter.

He's a talented guy, for sure, but he's going to face a lot of up-hill battles at FW due to discrepancies in physicality. He's still young, though, he's got years to put on some mass.

Well to be fair he was missing weight against those bantamweighs he took 0's from

Think a lot of judges see grappling as neutral positions if there aren't a lot of damage/offense going on. Christian had some success on the feet and on the mat Dulgarian offered very little in terms of damage.

Yeh, we see that a lot, 3 more strikes than your opponent while you got controlled for 4:11 is never enough to steal it. You'd need to be scoring knockdowns at the very least, and Christian wasn't.

And also, if 3 strikes while getting controlled for 4:11 can win you a round, then surely getting outstruck 36-5 and controlled for 4:48 is gonna lose you the first round 10-8.

EDIT: Ah, I see it was 10-8 in the first and 10-8 in the second.

So, Rod really did win by being taken down 4/6 times, controlled for 4:11, and landing 18-15 with strikes with no knockdowns. That's wild.

I thought he lost striking as well in the second. Youd really, really REALLY want Crod to win if you score the second for him.

Both guys had obvious 10-8s. Dulgarian in Round 1 and C-Rod in Round 3. If you think otherwise, then reread the scoring criteria.

The fight really does come down to how you score Round 2. I feel Dulgarian did just enough to edge it, but I am open to arguments that he wasn't sufficiently active in terms of Impactful scoring whereas C-Rod was sneaking in more shots like that knee to the head (probably the biggest strike of the round).
