What exactly did he address? His signature accomplishment was getting enormous tax cuts for the wealthy. And if Trump voters really wanted an outside anti-establishment type, why were they ok with Trump filling up his entire administration with swamp creatures? Washington DC folks and the swamp ran Trump's administration.

The only thing Trump brought to the table as far as I can tell was anti-political correctness. Trump supporters just wanted someone who could tell them that they're great and all their problems are the fault of immigrants and others. Validation is what he gave them.

Yes, he gave them a certain amount of validation to their concerns. As I said, in its own way it showed he was listening. As for what he accomplished, he did do something regarding the border. Regardless of whether it was foolish or productive, he made the attempt. He did do something about immigration, whether it was the right answer or not it lowered the numbers coming into America likely illegally and it got Mexico involved in that effort.

He made a move on NAFTA. Many people believed America was getting fucked in the original deal.

At the end of the day, it really doesn't matter how much he accomplished or even to a degree what he accomplished so much as what he appeared to try to accomplish related to their concerns and what minor successes he might have been able to pull off. As I said previously, it gives the impression of having at least tried. That impression has been further bolstered by the depth of the opposition against him from all corners of mainstream society and how vocal they were about it. It just lent credence to the idea that he tried and could have accomplished more if the establishment hadn't been undercutting him the entire time.

Doesn't matter if that were true or not or even to the degree it might have been true. Its only the perception of that which matters.

It's way too early to really gauge his chances. That's what kills me about this whole thing. You'd think the election was next week with the way people are talking. Even in practice by the powers that be. Trump's CPAC appearance might as well be the RNC event where they're confirming their Presidential candidate. There are four fucking years to go. Anything can happen. And that goes both ways, with people counting Trump out without knowing what the country is gonna look like after four years of Biden and what he's gonna do to piss people off. As if people couldn't possibly have their minds changed in that amount of time.
