Martial arts-specifically Catch as catch can/amateur wrestling should always be part of Pro wrestling. There's nothing wrong with acrobatics here and there but there's way to much flippy shit as Jim Cornette would say in pro wrestling today. Everything these days is a spot fest. No one knows how to sell or tell a story in the ring. They're just doing moves to do them. Plus doing a bunch of stupid comedy in every match.Did acrobatics and martial arts add or takeaway from pro wrestling. With the exception of lucha type and japanese wrestling, some wrestlers are focusing only on flips, twirls and kicks. For example, in the attitude era you had a small number of wrestlers with a martial arts background (Shamrock, RVD, Steve Blackman). Now some wrestlers are relying more so on the martial arts and flips and less on the wrestling.
Your thoughts.
