It's definitely a tactical mistake. Generally you want to park out of sight and not approach the front of the house. I'm just guessing this is what happened and the dude got the jump on him. In the last 5 years locally we've lost two officers while serving a warrant. One dude blasted through his door with a Draco and the other was ambushed inside a home.
