Back when MMA was more pure, in a sense. No real time limits, no gloves, fewer restrictions. Guys usually bought much more often. Granted Pancrase had a weird rule set and it wasn't quite anything goes, but those guys fought like 10-12 times a year in the early days.

Early Pancrase was pretty wild. Palm strikes, knockdowns, submission breaks, idk just didn't make a whole lot of sense. They gradually tweaked it to where it made sense. Some of those Russian events were basically either tap or corner throws the towel which is pretty crazy.

Here is Igor Vovchanchyn putting the hurt on Mark Kerr during Kerr's prime. During Kerr's prime, he (Kerr) was much bigger, stronger, and more dominant than Stipe.

Kerr's prime? The Igor fight was the first of a 5 fight losing streak for him. Anyway, Stipe beats Igor easily.
