Social Joy Reid Defends Books with Pedophilia in Public School Librairies

Karen- Do you agree that a book featuring strap on dildos, anal rape and paedophelia is appropriate?

Joy - I'm gonna answer that... Who is the main character in the book? <KhabibBS>

So a joust between Joy Reid and conservative Karen was supposed to be a slam dunk for Joy. Karen just took the ball and posterized her, nuts in the face

Imagine being on the side of Joy Reid after that

"omg they're banning anne frank! this offends my delicate sensibilities. you can keep the other materials about dildos, anal sex, and rape though. gosh..why you so sensitive??" - leftists

this logic does not compute, therefore it's manipulation and gaslighting.

Zealots, hypocrites, morons. It's all amazing.

Tina Descovich is a cofounder of Moms for Liberty and is currently on social media complaining that education about the Holocaust has become poor. She and her allies are blaming this on the left.

But her organization is responsible for getting Anne Frank's Diary banned from Florida schools, under the pretext that it's "sexually explicit." Anne Frank's Diary, along with Night by Elie Wiesel, have been the two quintessential books about the holocaust in American schools since the 50's.
Don't forget Maus.

The weirdest thing is the argument they are okay with anything so long as it is at the behest of a professional. They are so demoralized that the idea of independent thought is terrifying to them.

Authority cannot be challenged. If you do so, you’re an authoritarian.

you can't quote anyone let alone "they" arguing for this. You make up dumb stuff yourself then argue against it on karate forums.

nothing shows your gen z victim complex like crying you've been gaslit.

No one here is saying that should be banned. We’ve consistently said graphic sexual content.

why do you guys draw the line at physical relationships but not graphic physical violence in kid's media?

Do you think video games cause violent kids?

This is the book they are talking about.

I don't really think it matters as long as it isn't in the curriculum. I really have no real issues if it's in a high school library. Your kid is broken or already gay if he gets aroused reading a story about a black teenager getting raped by his relative.

Pretty much people are just fighting over a book that nobody is going to read in that library. Kids don't go to the school library anymore. Ban reddit, twitch, kick if you don't want them to be exposed to alphabet nonsense. The school library is not the actual battleground.

I'd also like to point out:

Some of my favorite writers:

Ryunosuke Akutagawa, Nikolai Gogol, Thomas Pynchon, Louis Ferdinand Celine, Knut Hamsun, Fernando Pessoa, Franz Kafka, Umberto Eco, Ilf & Petrov, Charles Baudelaire, Emil Cioran.
Celine and Hamsun literally became fascist Nazi sympathizers. Cioran also dabbled in fascism during the early part of his life. Their great works/novels have nothing do with it, otherwise I wouldn't enjoy them. However, it does cause some problems in their home countries of France and Norway. People don't know what to do with them. Great writers, whose reputations get tarnished because they went cuckoo. My opinion: separate the art from the artists. Celine was even my avatar here for a few years.

So, no, my literary tastes aren't exactly the exclusive domain of left-wingers.

Indeed, the "typical chud response" of pointing out your incoherence and you getting angry when you have no response.

Lol at "it's been around since 1997". Oh, you mean 2 years before the kids from Columbine dressed up in trench coats and massacred their classmates, and the steady stream of depressed video game addicted kids committing shootings that have followed since? Wow, solid point.

What kind of fucking idiot would even try to pretend kids murdering people in lifelike video games for several hours every day doesn't have any desensitizing effect?

Don't forget Maus.

I remember when it was removed from the curriculum in that county in Tennessee, but I don't remember it being banned or removed elsewhere. I also don't remember Moms For Liberty being involved. Doing quick google searches, I don't see any relation between them and Maus, just that they are pushing to get "Walk Two Moons" (which I've never heard of) removed in Tennessee.

I don't remember hearing about Anne Frank being banned or removed from the curriculum, so I am pretty ignorant to that.

edit:
I forget which grade I read Maus volume 1, I think it was 10th or 11th grade. Didn't read volume 2 until college, which I believe is when the nudity takes place. I didn't feel like volume 2 had as much merit as volume 1. Not giving volume 1 to kids to read I think is doing a disservice to those kids.

their goal is to destroy childhood innocence, because "innocence upholds white supremacy".

"I reveal how the doctrine of innoence has operated to maintain White supremacy"

Agreed. It’s a stupid discussion.

I just take issue with someone claiming exercising your voting privileges to make changes to tax payer efforts is authoritarian.

you admit you can't shield kids from sexual content, so the move is to ban mention in school amongst literature themes in an educational environment where they can talk about it with counselors and instead drive them to internet where the themes are approached with unfettered exploitation of people aimed purely at profit so they learn of there?

and this is justified because it saves some erroneous amount of money?

In addition to Tennessee, It's been "banned pending review" in schools in both Florida and Texas. It was also removed from 2 districts in Missouri, although iirc one actually returned it after complaints.

If he was really worried about "protecting childhood innocence" he would be mostly worried about all the porn they're consuming on their computer.

Although I guess "Lana Rhodes is a Marxist and she's trying to eliminate white people" is a bit more of a hard sell.

I also wouldn’t want graphic physical violence against children in libraries.

My opinions are on what should be available in public schools.

So no Lord Of the Flies (RIP Piggy) until what...age 22?

just ban graphic violence against children but not graphic violence against young adults or elderly? lol why?

Do you just want to ban sexual themes dealing with kids in library books and are ok with them leaving ones involving adults? why?

It doesn't matter if the media is consumed on school property or not, I'm asking you a simple question. Do you think violent video games cause children to commit violence? Or is this just a power books hold when it comes to sex?

but they can read american psycho in libraries because that's not about hurting kids? trying to keep up his logic.
