Legacy wise do you rate Wilder on the same level as Wlad

Hm let me see. 21 title defenses vs 10, 12 year as a champ vs 5 year champ of a single sanctioning body. The best HW on the planet for at least 5-6 years vs the best HW on the planet for like half a year. Wins over prime Povetkin, Chagaev, Ibragimov, Haye etc. against 2 wins over 40 year old ortiz, breazeale and stiverne ??? is this a serious question? Wlad is Top 10 all time. Wilder is maybe Top 30-40
Povetkin and Pulev i believe were top 10 fighters when Wlad beat them, were they?

assume Wlad fought more top 10 fighters at the time than Wilder?

Wlad's top 10 opponents:
  1. Byrd I (9th)
  2. Peter I (9th)
  3. Ibragimov (10th)
  4. Thompson I (10th)
  5. Chagaev (10th)
  6. Haye (8th)
  7. Povetkin (4th)
  8. Pulev (8th)
  9. Fury (2nd)
  10. Joshua (2nd)

Wilder's top 10 opponents:
  1. Ortiz I (8th)
  2. Fury I (1st)
  3. Ortiz II (10th)
  4. Fury II (1st)

In terms of legacy, resume. Their title runs etc. would you put him on Wlad’s level?

He’s lost a fight, not retired. As much as I think fury will batter him again he has the most genuine punchers chance in the history of the division. He may well reign again
I'm not even sure how good he is at getting off that 1 weapon anymore.

The blueprint is out. Guys are going to blitz him.

I hope he can throw flames off his back foot....he's gonna need that to say the least

I doubt Cunningham was top 10 at HW when Fury fought him. He had only one win at the weight before (despite arguably beating Adamek) they fought.

Forget about prime, I'd give current Wlad a great chance at beating Wilder.
That would be good there was rumour of a comeback winner vs winner of fury vs AJ???

why the hell hasn't Wilder been fighting more top 10 guys via mandatories?

Clearly a joke, no one seriously thinks Wilder compares to either Wald or Vitali. Wilder is definitely a great hw puncher but that isn’t the same as being an all time great.

Adamek was considered a top 5 heavyweight at the time and most people thought Cunningham beat him.

Fair enough. Some ratings could have had him top 10 (Ring did not). Cunningham probably should have won that fight, though, so it's legitimate enough.

Wilder is more comparable to guys like Povetkin and Valuev, than Wlad.

It's so not even close I cant even write up an explanation without feeling like I must be writing a joke. There is no comparison.

Fuck no Wlad was on top for 10 years Wilder was level with others at best for 2 years.

Wilder is more comparable to guys like Andy Ruiz, Sam Peter and Chris Byrd, than Wlad.

As much as his punching ability within this select era separates him from them, you're more or less right.

Did you mean Vitaly ?

He was champ but didn’t unify, defended 9x, which is similar to Wilder.

45 wins 41 KOs.

On paper they have some similarities.
I’d put Vitaly above Wilder though, he was a much more complete fighter- better fighter IQ, and he faced better competition, at least in terms of the top guys he beat, in my opinion.
Vitali is one of the best HWs of the last 20 years imo. He never fulfilled his potential largely due to his brother holding 3 belts. Everything Wlad could do Vitali did better and harder.

Wlad dominated heavyweight boxing for over a decade. lol, this is surely a troll thread?
