True, but that also harkens back to my point on: a fight company shouldn't put on a fight where they won't or shouldn't give the lower guy what the higher one has if they happen to win.Well no, it's more that being the champ doesn't always mean you're the #1 guy. Especially if you got to cut the line and the champ is the only elite win you have.
It was nice that Serra won the comebacks, but the fact that everyone coming out of his GSP match thought of it as a fluke that will be fixed in time means maybe they shouldn't have given that season the "make-a-wish" condition of fighting for the belt.
If they didn't want Max to be a higher contender than Justin at LW, they can't book that fight at LW and see Justin lose and then go, "Ah well, it doesn't really count." They should have to face that consequences of, this guy beat this guy, so now he's higher.
