As Jon Jones breathes a sigh of relief lmfaoDoesn't seem to do anything about outstretched fingers

I have no idea how you guys still don't understand after all these years that the entire point of the differences between UFC and Pride gloves is that the UFC wants open and minimalist gloves to allow for a balanced approach between striking and grappling, while the Pride and other curved gloves emphasize the striking at the expense of the grappling because that's what they're for.The issue was never that fighters needed the gloves to be easier to close into a fist. The whole effectiveness of the Pride gloves came from the resistance when trying to open the hand up. The gloves in their relaxed state forced your hand into making a fist (or atleast close to that).

They said the finger cut outs make it easier to close your fist up. According to their testing, they saw a reduction in eye pokes, but they can’t be too positive u til they really start using them.
Would you change the 10-9 scoring with this as well so they have a chance to take the round in some way?Lol, the issue isn't that the fighters can't close their fists. It's that they don't.
Automatic 1 point DQ for an eye poke would solve the eyepoke issue permanently.
Every time someone says the Pride gloves were better I want to remind them that the Pride glove also covers your thumb like a finger. While most of us were looking for that answer, the MAJOR issue is that there is almost no way to create a glove that limits outstretched fingers that don’t in some way hamper the grappling aspect of the sport.
Even having longer finger tips like a mitten/ Pride glove style will lead to more glove grabbing, hand and possibly less KO’s due to extra finger padding.
No. Eye pokes are a serious impediment and affect the rest of the fight. They aren't like groin shots where you accidentally aim wrong. 90% of the time they are intentional. Under the current system they are a freebie and there's no reason not to do it.Would you change the 10-9 scoring with this as well so they have a chance to take the round in some way?
My money is on Deiveson Figueiredo.Who will have the honor to be the first fighter to poke someone's eyes out with deez badboys?!
Feel like gold color will be a disadvantage to wear. Much brighter color easier to spot for the eye than the black.
They had one problem to solve lolDoesn't seem to do anything about outstretched fingers
Historically speaking bright colours attached to weapons served a few main purposes:Feel like gold color will be a disadvantage to wear. Much brighter color easier to spot for the eye than the black.
Gloves won't do shit about eyepokes because you need be able to open your hands and extend your fingers to grapple and wrestle, and extended fingers while standing = eye pokes
The change must come from the referees and a zero tolerance/automatic points deduction rule (accidental or not), and an automatic DQ if it keeps happening in a fight.
When serial eyepokers will start losing fights because of deducted points or DQ for repeated eyepokes, they'll stop putting their fingers in the other guy's face
Issue doesnt seem they cant make a fist, they love to have full stretched fingers, and seems even easier with this new design. They said the finger cut outs make it easier to close your fist up. According to their testing, they saw a reduction in eye pokes, but they can’t be too positive u til they really start using them.
