Hyenas would win. They're not afraid to fight dirty.

Cecil Peeples saw nothing...

A bear could easily take on 10 Lesnars. Would need to be 25:1 minimum for Lesnar to have a chance.

What if the Lesnars can grow out their fingernails and file them to a point and wear Andrei Arlovski's mouthgard with the fangs.

I’d love to say the frozen tundra hardened Grey Wolf wins this. The same Wolves that completely eliminate ecosystems because of their predation on deer, Elk, and Moose. The same Wolves that kill herds of Elk for fun, and actively practice coordination of carnage for fun.

But, those damned Hyenas as just too much. Bite force, thick hides, and being some weird fucking hybrid animal somewhere between cat and dog, male and female. Nothing about a Hyena is natural, yet here they are. Hyenas strangeness kinda makes me want to shoot them. They are just too dangerous and odd to exist.

Hyenas easily. They have the strongest bite force P4P of any animal besides Tasmanian devils. They're big, strong and vicious.

Tasmanian devils are crazy. In pics the look like a little possum thing but in person they're all solid, like a 90s movie animal animatronics

Wolves are likely smarter and work better as a pack. Hyenas can get chased off by African wild dogs, since the dogs are much better working together. To the death though? Hyenas. Stronger bite. Bigger. Thicker skin. Harsher environment.

To be fair wolves have proved more adaptable across multiple climates. Hyenas once roamed Europe but even there the "cave" hyenas targeted animals the "cave" bears and wolves (which went after steppe bison) didn't go for to lessen hunting competition. One theory of the cause of their extinction is being out competed by both wolves and humans once the grassland environment changed to more wooded, with the wolves like humans proving adaptable to nearly any climate.

Those dogs are badass and fearless. Maybe the most cohesive animal pack among mammals. They aren't even scared of lions.

They have to gang up like a million to one like a bunch of pussies, they're not getting accolades for that.

They have non-stop, crackhead, stamina though.

Eastern red wolf or the grey wolves we see here in the foothills? 130 pound wolves aren't uncommon here and there's been a few on record over 170 lbs. So average sizes aren't all that incomparable.

Regardless, neither animal would last long in the others environments and they evolved for survival, not for gladiator combat. My money is on the gang (murder? 13 wolverines should be called a murder of wolverines), of wolverines mentioned by @scgst4 . The hell is that all about?
